Yeah true. But he's more inclined towards Northern Ireland, which is British of course, I wasn't sure which part of Ireland was implied.

The whole of Ireland in it's entirety is part of the British Isles. It is not a political distinction.

I pondered that; not being sure "where" they belong.  If there are any Icelanders here I'll be curious what they choose.  Northern Europe, I would guess.  Or perhaps Western.

I'd say probably Northern, at least that's what I would consider the Scandinavian countries to fall under. Lovely country though. I was there a couple of years ago with my dad.

^ thanks that's very useful, a demarcation that corroborates the political distinction from one land mass from another. A subject clearly intuitive to Colorado inhabitants. A sovereign state is a nonphysical juridical entity of the international legal system that is represented by an elected government that has supreme independent authority over a geographic area. Ireland is stand alone and self governing. Let me know which part of that eludes you.

Most of the other regions in this poll are geographical, not political, regions.  I suppose I should have put North America instead of Canada/USA/et al, but I chose to do this instead.  The distinctions were not politically motivated!
