I thought it would be interesting to start a prog DVD thread.Post here when you get a prog dvd and tell everyone what you think of it

I got Transatlantic-Live in Europe/Limited Deluxe Edition in the mail this weekend.Very good concert dvd by a favorite band of mine,I have not had time to view all the bonus material yet,but there is a live performance of Pink Floyd's "Shine on You Crazy Diamond"

I got it on thursday, and I liked it very much (The Abbey Road medley was really cool).

I had heard that they were under some pressure to release ESL on DVD, but I didn't think they would bother. Thats good news!!

Can I ask where you heard this?

Fair enough Cygnus

Well, I'll be buying all those, but I'm really looking forward to laying my hands on ESL!! My VHS copy is f***ed!! 1981 was the best year for Rush IMO.

30th is great. amazin value for money. that is, if you find it for 16 pound like me.

also worth a mention is the yes 35th dvd. filmed in boston, not as good as the glasgow one that i have on bootleg, but still great. they play oldies such as sweet dreams and every little thing.

oh, and wakemans 30th anniversarry of journey is worth a buy. very retro tv effects which are quite amusin but the show is outstandin. material from the two albums either side of journey plus journey in its entirety.

i was disappointed with elp - beyond the beginning. its just archive footage rather than one full concert. i await the day one of them comes out, if it isnt already.

Finally! Such great performances finally on DVD.

And knowing Rush, these aren't going to be crappy, barebones releases- it will be beautiful!

Thus far, I have:

VDGG: Godbluff Live: Has 2 halves, the first is from the "Godbluff" tour a performance in France. The performance itself is EXCELLENT, but man, that Director of Photography should've been shot!!! It was almost nothing but closeups of Hammill and David Jackson, with Guy Evans and Hugh Banton getting only mere seconds of screentime. Some full shots of the whole band would've been great too but alas---- . The second half is an appearance on a Belgian TV program, where they perform "Theme One" and then "A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers", here, everyone gets equal and generous screentime, it's kind of fun watching Hugh come up with all his sonic mayhem. The story goes that they were contractually obligated to do "Plague--" but they could never play it live due to technical difficulties. What they did was film it in segments and piece it together. Very good performance, kind of cheesy on the visual side (with the low lighting and burning goth candles and all).

ELP-Masters From The Vault: Concert footage from the tour for their debut album, VERY fiery performances, good screentime for all, Could've done without the cheesy psychedelic visual effects (but afterall it was 1970 or so).

I just bought Jethro Tull's dvd "Nothing is Easy: Live at the Isle of Wight" yesterday.  It's great, but I wish they would 'ave included footage of all the songs they performed instead of just a few of them.  I can't really complain, for the footage they 'ave is exquisite.  A must for Tull fans.

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

I don't know how unavaillable are this ones, because I have Exit Stage Left (Dissapointing) A Show of Hands (Excellent) and Rush in Rio (Superb), all Brazilian editions.
