All:

We all know that PA can be addictive.  And many of you are addicted.

However, in monitoring the threads here recently, I have discovered that, without question, Stonebeard is the most addicted of all.  Indeed, I cannot even figure out how he posts to four threads simultaneously - and multiple posts at that!  And he seems to be able to do this around the clock.  Maybe he has insomnia as well.

What is absolutely clear is that Stonebeard has no life at all outside PA: zip, nada, zero, zilch.  And he really, really needs to get a life - for his own good, for peace of mind, in order to develop social skills outside cyberspace.

My concern for him is such that I am beginning a support club for him, through which I hope to figure out how to create some kind of life for him outside PA.

All suggestions are welcome.  But most of all, it is important that we all show Stonebeard a great deal of love and encouragement.

Stonebeard: if there is anything - anything! - I can do, don't hesitate to drop me a line.  I am your friend, and I am here to help you.

Peace.

Stonebeard:

There, there - please dont cry!  <<<gives encouraging pat on the back>>>  We're not trying to get rid of you.  We simply want you to be happy in "real time" as you are in cyberspace.  And besides, you're damaging your keyboard...

Peace.

Agreed Maani ... although he's not the only one ... I;ve been quite free of late and over the course of this last week I tried to keep up with the likes of Snow Dog, NJNetsFan, Cygnus X-2 and Man With Hat as well as the almighty Stonebeard ...

I didn't stand a chance ...

yeah, but i only joind two months ago, and i post almost exclusivly in "discussions not related to music." so while it may seem like i'm an insane fool with no friends, this is an exaggeration. in fact, when school starts back up, me and my friends will surly gather together in the cafeteria and sing drinking songs merrily while we pound down pints of ale like Nordic drunkards.

but this is summer and i just found new friends that have similar intrests besides gaming. believe it or not, not many people at my school like or even know of prog. so it is fun to talk to people who do, even if we talk about nonsense like kitty cats.

A long time ago, actually, 4 or 5 years according to the primate human species known as M.A.N. or A.D.A.M., I was a teeny little internetter. There I was, floating on my back in the midst of cyberspace wilderness... And I saw a LotR site in dutch. So I went there. Soon I had the biggest amount of posts on the whoooooooooole forum. Yep, you win...I considered doing all my shopping online, but with the grocery store just three blocks away I'd be too embarrased to open the door for the delivery boy!

Plus, I'd miss getting appraised by all those restless housewives...

the restless housewives just see me as a charity case; if I carry my baseball cap instead of wearing it, I usually end up with a few coins being dropped into it...

Ha! i laugh at your mediocre Spamming.
I have been banned a total of 9 times at the Dream theater message boards. but not "banned for a week, or a month" that's 9 different user names. They can IP ban me, the can track my comuter network, but I always find a way back! I am by far the most hated member of the fourms and will continue to be that person for life.
I haven't been back in almost 3 months though, so I think its time I find my way back into that place...

But on topic, I think you should try to get a girlfriend, Stoney...
But see the problem is, you would first need to leave here to find one.
So it might be tough, but this friday, don't post at all. Go out and get laid, and do the same on saturday, then sunday. Hopefully by then you won't feel the same dependency to this wonderful place.

What for?LOL
Spam, Pornographic Images, Insulting someone in German (i'm not too sure how or why with this one...), Reason unknown, Returning to the boards, Obscene first post with obvious identiy known, Spamming boards (one week band) then spamming after the return[done for fun] , Returning to the boards, One night return to demand an explanation of my ban (I was able to stay on the boards for a bout three months with noone knowing who I was and everyone grew to love me...then they found out who I was a kicked me out. I felt I was treated quite unfairly,) Insulting Mod and returning to the boards.
I think that was it... I tend to lose track.
