Okay i get that Animals will destroy here but there are some great albums here. I love that Von Zamla live one but lets face it there's a case for every record on here. For me it's down to Zao, Rahmann and Porcupine Tree although i know i gave one of those Vortex albums 5 stars too. I need to listen to some of these first before voting.

Oh, Zao's second album `Osiris' is a big favourite of mine, love the direction of Zeuhl/jazz fusion they went in, and all without the loopy female vocals that ruined the first one for me - although I know that aspect is one of the elements fans of that album really love!
So `Osiris' gets my vote!
Have to say, the `Rahmann' album is a knockout too, and I have lots of love for K.Schulze's `Picture Music' too!

Zeit is a wonderful album, gets my vote. UZ and KS round out the top three here.

Wow. This maybe the first time when I've heard every contestant, at least once.
However, this doesn't help my in voting. UZ, Vortex, VZ, and Schulze are all brilliant. Animals is my favorite Floyd as well.
I think I'll give it to Vortex's second album however. What a wonderful trip. OF course the first is great too...damnit...over thinking it...

This round is too much! I can't vote, seriously I can't. Osiris is my favorite Zao album, Les Cycles De Thanatos is my favorite Vortex album, Used is incredible, Rahmann is also very good and I even like that PT album. And can I not vote for Animals?

I swear I haven't voted for anything but Floyd on any of these... this is what happens when one of my favorite bands is in every poll haha

Went with Zeit. After having it for a few years, I'm finally starting to hear the cool stuff just underneath the surface - it's one of those albums that rewards close listening, but sounds kind of dull if you just play it as background music. I think there's something really special going on there, though, so I'll give it my vote today.
Other contestants: Animals is great, one of my top 5 Floyd albums. and I really like both of those Vortex albums (David/G-Bamsen recommended them to me, and I've listened a few times on Youtube) but don't know them well enough to choose them. I've really never gotten into Zao, but I haven't listened to them in ages either, and don't own any albums or copies of albums.
The Porcupine Tree album is the first one I ever heard by them, and I never dreamed that he/they would get so big. It seemed to me at the time like a pretty good Pink Floyd-inspired project, but nothing that would really make much of an impact. I was wrong there, it's now considered a minor (or even major) classic by many. Still, I prefer their tighter middle period, exemplified by Lightbulb Sun and In Absentia. Though curiously, Stupid Dream is one of my least favorites.

I've taken years before getting into it. I have given my first original vinyl copy to a friend because it was boring me (what an idiot!) and now it's one of my favorite albums.

A favourite for many FLOYD fans no doubt. Lets see now, am i a pig, sheep or dog ? No need to answer that for me guys. One of the most recognizable album covers as well. Gilmour certainly made the music to match Waters' lyrics didn't he?

It probably comes down to Zao or Rahmann for me too Michael. Interesting that on this the second Zao album they didn't want to sign with a major label instead signing with a new label that Richard Pinhas has started up. Yes the same guy from Heldon who was known by the band and is Stella Vander's cousin. Through Pinhas' hard work this out sold their debut but sadly the label would go bankrupt meaning this album was deleted. That is until Musea got the rights to it.

Wow lots of votes for Zeit including SaltyJon. It's hard for me to imagine how they created this in the studio. I mean it must have taken a lot of patience because often it seems like there's not much happening. This really is a headphone album though with the listener needing to use their imagination.

No money in the world would work for that. Although, it would take a lesser amount than it would to change it to a Yankees' logo.

Having driven through Pennsylvania many times on our journey to Florida i can say there's not much difference in our weather. But yeah that cold air does come from the north so Canada has to be responsible and of course we apologise profusely. We always found the temps didn't change much until we got well into West Virginia.

Like Sagi this has become almost impossible for me to vote. Those VORTEX albums are absolute must-haves for any who don't yet posess them. Then add UZ, FLOYD, RAHMANN, ZAO and PT and it's giving me a headache just thinking about it.
I finally picked Rahmann simply because they had no vote and they sure deserve it.

Yeah...its not terribly different. If memory serves theres about a 10-15 degree difference in average temperature this time of the year between me and the lower bits of Canada. But luckily, we do occasionally get days like tomorrow where the high will be in the low to mid 40s (thank you southern US ). It's really all wind direction here...So, yes I blame Canada.

Also, still torn about what to vote for, but I'm going to give it to Vortex's debut.
Even though I might like the second one better, it shouldn't be without a vote.

I have and like all of these albums. Great list. I went with Zeit, since I think it an überclassic, but I suspect that I've voted for most of these in PA polls over the years. Vortex' Les Cycles de Thanatos would be my other choice. That album blew me away, so to speak, but then a number of albums here really grabbed me by the yarbles.
