Who was the most valuable player in the 2012 NFL season?  Make your case.

Playing through injuries and only missing the record by nine yards?  AP.

Hard to say between Manning and Rodgers since the year is not over. I think I lean towards Manning because he too came off an injury. If one of these two quarterbacks wins in the super bowl it should be a lock. Sure peterson had an awesome year but the vikings are on vacation now while Manning and Rodgers are still adding value to their year and their teams.

Calvin Johnson.  Oh wait...the Lions only won 4 games.

^ He certainly fits the description though.

AP for me.

It's not that they team won games. It's that so many of his yards came in junk time because his team was losing games.

I was close between Manning and AP, but the last few games of the season makes me favor AP. Uglier injury, harder for a rb to recover, only weapon after Harvin went down on a team that was abysmal last year.

That'd be relevant if the award had anything to do with the playoffs.  AP clearly the regular season MVP.

Yes I am starting to think so but if Manning heads to the super bowl, they won't announce it till the night before the super bowl. Both of them had awesome years. AP only scored 12 touchdowns. Manning was in on every offensive play. It will be interesting. They are both deserving.

I know the league does love to give that award to Manning but, when it comes down to it, he joined what was already a pretty complete team that was expected to make the playoffs.  AP had one of the greatest seasons for a RB in history in route to carrying a team that ONLY had him to thank for their success.  I don't go by the bull that "the QB touches the ball every play".  So does the center.  So f'n what?

Like I said AP is certainly deserving but would you be real surprised if Manning came away with it? Just like I don't expect Wilson to get the rookie of the year award. There is some real rookie talent which does not even get mentioned like Doug Martin.

AP

Remember, it's most valuable player. Not even best...AP's amazing yardage and etc don't mean so much per se, but his value to the team. Which is 100%  Nothing against Peyton but they managed 8 wins with a Tebow/Orton combo. That's a good team, but the Vikes would be complete junk without peterson.

I used to be torn about the playoffs thing, after all what's more valuable than playoffs, but it is a regular season award ultimately. Close losers are Peyton and Rodgers, and honorable mention to guys like Romo and Eli that carry their offenses, Matt Ryan and Calvin Johnson.

I officially support Wilson for RoY, just a shade above Luck, a step above RG3, and not terribly far behind are Martin and Morris.

AP. Hands down. He should have had Dickerson's record.
