I hate being new. At anything ever. But prog. rock is my favourite genre of my favourite thing ever.
My favourite band is Pink Floyd because I'm cliche. But Wish You Were Here brings me to tears every single time. But I love a bit of Genesis, along side a load others.
Look, just make me feel welcome, okay?

Pink Floyd rules.  It's no cliche' around here!

Glad you're here, welcome!  I look forward to seeing you around the forum.

^ Of course PF are cliched. Big smile Bacamarte, on the other hand, ... .

Hello, grrrlfever! ... and welcome! Hope we will have a lot to learn from each other on the forum. Just don't troll, please. I've had a bit of a tough time these past two weeks.

Welcome!  You should try Riverside out, if you haven't already - I think their sound has a lot in common with Pink Floyd.

Welcome to PA!  I second the above comment; I haven't heard much Riverside, but what I have heard is very good and should appeal to a PF fan.

Well hey, Pink Floyd is my favorite musical group and Dark Side of the Moon, my favorite album. I used to march to parts of The Wall like Waiting for the Worms when I worked at McDonalds (they let me wear headphones while I swept and cleaned).

Did you chant "Ham-burger! Ham-burger! Ham-burger!" ??

Naw, I fairly well ignored the job at hand and drifted into my own world. I'd forget what I was doing and wipe tables off with dirty brooms and hide in the bathroom for hours.

Welcome to PA!
That's a fact of life, until we will discover time travel you have to be new before becoming a senior.

Rapid Eye Movement gets bashed here, but I found it to be a GREAT starting point for Riverside.

EDIT: Though, thinking about it, any fan of Pink Floyd should at least try out Porcupine Tree. Probably the BIGGEST current band on this site. You could look into the earlier Pink Floyd inspired albums, but I find the best being the later 'Porcupine-Prog-Pop' genre, of some sorts...

Lightbulb Sun got me hooked. I'd recommend that to anyone. Not heavy like In Absentia, so a great starting point.. Or maybe Stupid Dream first... Honestly, for a PF fan, maybe Stupid Dream..

Okay, my ramblings are done!!

I wouldn't worry about ProgMetaller2112, if that's who you're hinting at. Just call him a troll and get it over with (if you haven't already).

Anyway, welcome grrrlfever! Hope you enjoy the forum. Smile
