Our Band was born in 2007, in Favara, a small town in Agrigento province, under the name of "The Key" with the meeting of the drummer Salvatore "Totuccio" Piscopo and the Guitarrist Gabriel Signorino. They quickly begin to create their own song strongly influenced by hard rock and experimental music. In this period, our songs such as "Correct in correct measure" and "the box" find a real consistancy with the arrival of the bassist Attilio di Salvo and vocalist Salvatore "Totò" Costanza. With this line up, The Key where chosen in the contest Festival Pub Italia, an important event whose only 40 band in Sicily took part. Then in 2009 the arrival of Andrea Celauro, the keyboardist (and the one who's writing right now), the sound of the band is really complete with the add of vintage and modern sound, mixed with a wide range of prog and jazz inspiration. The real beauty of our sound is that all of our musicians take inspiration from different music and different genres, though is not very clear.
Totuccio (we distinguish drummer and vocalist calling them Totò and Totuccio 'couse of the same name) for example, loves Radiohead, Riverside, Teramelos and Franco Battiato; Gabriel is way different becouse he listen to a completly different music such as Metallica, Tool and even Limp Bizkit! Totò loves mostly prog singers like Fish (his great love), Maynard Keenan and Stefano Galifi, and Attilio likes good old heavy metal. About me, I stick with most of progressive rock genere, I grew up listening RPI and Zeuhl, but my hearing range is always in expansion.
Anyway, in 2010 we've been invited by "Radio Favara 101", playing for its 34th anniversary and we announced the new name of the band, "The Whole Key" instead of just "The Key". The event was a success, and even people from London and Belgium was listening and watching via webcam the live playing. In 2012 the band played for the first time in Lecce for one of the most important contest/meeting in Italy, The ESP Music Village, in Puglia region, far away from our loved island. Even there, the success was guaranteed, recieving good reviews by the judges and the attendance!
We recorded 4 tracks that we're hope to release this year. We decied to release the EP in CD format, but, we have composed a lot of new songs since then, so we have decided to probably release them for free in Soundcloud or Jamendo this year, and add them for a future full lenght album someday in the future! Meanwhile you can enjoy two of our videos recorded in 06/10/2012 for the first edition of a new local festival "Favara, storia della musica", put "like" on our facebook page and also listen two extract of our songs in my space. Hope you enjoy! Wink

Handshake

hello, welcome to the forum - the two vids sound rather promising

I spot much potential, definitely progressive rock influenced, in order to categorize a bit this is heavy predominantly, but also some symphonic and metal ingredients, the vocals are something unique by all means.

would like to hear more distinctive elements from the band such as given on your myspace page
