Can't believe I forgot to post this here; oh well, no time like the present to rectify that. I'm not entirely sure this is the most appropriate subforum, but it's prohibiting me from starting new topics in the more obvious ones, so here it goes.
I've done music composition as a hobby for quite some time, as can be seen in http://www.commodorejohn.com/music.php" rel="nofollow - music section of my site. I even put together http://www.commodorejohn.com/funnies.php" rel="nofollow - an album for the folks over at http://www.joshreads.com/" rel="nofollow - The Comics Curmudgeon, though looking back it's not my best work (too much over-structured plod, not enough rock, but there's still a lot of stuff I like about it.)
However, back in late May I finished http://www.commodorejohn.com/miscsongs.php#remnant" rel="nofollow - "Remnant of the Universal Veil," the thing that I am absolutely the most proud of out of everything I've ever done. It's a 17-minute psychedelic progressive space-rock epic kind of thing that I kind of thought was vaguely Pink Floyd-ey but I've been told reminds people of Yes or Hawkwind, so take those as the vague indications they are and maybe give it a listen! It's available on my site or in higher bitrates http://archive.org/details/RemnantOfTheUniversalVeil" rel="nofollow - at archive.org.
It's now formed the kernel of a loosely-concept album project, if I can only nail down all the material I want to fill out the rest of it...but we'll get there when we get there.
------------- Music, games, computers - I like 'em old, weird, and interesting!
