With the new Yes singer. I wonder how much stage time Procol Harum will be getting?

I have to tell you that I'm more excited to see Procol Harum.  See you in Detroit! on the 6th of August.  Anyone know  the reason why Benoit David is gone?  He was/is awesome.

I've no interest at all in a Jon Anderson-less Yes, but Procol Harum would be excellent. Such an amazing band and sadly all but forgotten unless you're a Prog Head like everyone here and therefore have excellent taste!

That sucks - In Boston, the Bank Of America Pavillion has crappy acoustics.  Everything sounds like mush there.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Benoit David was let go due to illness. Rather ironic for the poor guy. When he first stepped in on a tempoaray basis he was clearly uncomfortable about the circumstances re. Jon Anderson and was very tactful and gentlemanly about the whole affair. Now he's been replaced with yet another tribute singer. It's a farce basically, and very sad and undignified for such a classic and iconic band IMO.

I wouldn't say that Jon Davison "replaced" Benoit David, he's filling in since Yes was already contracted for these tour dates and they were in a fix when David developed vocal chord problems.

My friends at Glass Hammer assure me that Jon is strictly doing this as a favor to Yes & remains a full-time member of Glass Hammer.  They have a new concept album called "Perilous" that is going through final recording & mix-down stages, due to be released later in 2012.  Davison recorded his vocals for "Perilous" when Yes had a break in their tour schedule.

What Yes will do for lead vocalist on future tours or recordings, if anything, remains to be seen.  I don't think vocal duties will be handled by either Benoit David or Jon Davison.  Not sure why Benoit got the boot so abruptly, my sense (as a former musician/rock band member) is that something else may have been amiss.  We'll probably never know.

It's said that it may also have been due to exhaustion and stress on David's part, and who can blame him. I think it's all very sad TBH and I stand by what I think about a lumbering, jobbing Yes. In Prog terms, they're up there with The Beatles, and you wouldn't have a stand in John Lennon. Having said that, if you are going to change your line-up yet again, have some dignity and imagination, ie not a Jon stand-in, but someone completely different. Honour would at least prevail to some degree, at least.

Benoit David was in a Yes-cover band...but he came into his own with the last 2 release by Quebec's MYSTERY.

I just saw them in Englewood, NJ, and they were really tight.  Jon did a great job at lead vocals.  I saw them with David before Fly Away From Here came out, and I actually liked Jon better.

Saw the Raleigh concert w/meet and greet. Both bands excellent. PH long overdue in this part of the country.
Jon Davison and Geoff Downes welcome additions. I like Jon A and R Wakeman very much, but the last five years they played, yes was like a day job, no emotion, almost disinterest. The new blood makes the band vibrant and enjoyable. Downes can actually play Wakeman well. He is a master of the  riff (listen to Asia). I hope his talent will be used to grow the brand. I hope more new music comes before more attrition. Nobody is getting younger.
Chris Squire  is the common thread. ABWH proved that. Yes is better live today than in years. I wish both JA and RW well and success. Both have failing health and lack of desire for Yes to thrive.
I am sure most Yes fans want to keep the music alive. The new guys offer the best hope for the future.
Do not miss this tour

Already got my tickets for Yes in Mexico City...
so, that means I'll get to see Procol Harum too?
I'm afraid I don't know them at all (except for a pair of songs I just heard on Youtube), perhaps I should get some CD of them before the concert... any recomendation? I guess it would have to be a live album, or perhaps a compilation one, I wouldn't have time to indulge into their discography before the concert (neither to buy many albums, nor to listen to them... plus there are many other albums I really want to get and I wouldn't want to start getting too much into this guys right now).

I saw Yes at Pine Knob in Michigan last night.  Do not miss this tour.  Davison sounded amazing on vocals and Downes was unbelievable.  Howe on fire and Squire and White really swingin' in the rhythm section.  Also...it's been a long time since I've seen an opening band(Procol Harum) get a standing ovation with an ENCORE!

Yeah...PH were that good.

Still, I wonder if Procol Harum are coming to Mexico too. I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't come as long as that gives Yes a bit more time to play. Of course, if I knew Procol Harum properly I might not be saying this.

Saw the Denver show last night, and it was amazing. The band was playing very well. Squire and Howe really got into it. Both of them were on fire. Davison never missed a beat. He sounded fantastic and put his own stamp on the songs. Procol Harum was a nice bonus. If you are debating whether you should see this tour, just do it. You'll have a good time.
