these are my three favourite drummers, they all have sort of similar styles, or sound abit like eachother in aproach, all three are very musical drummers, all of them have extreme presision and speed, they all are impressive behing the kit, they all are highly respected in the drummerworld, they all have a very spessial sound, have influenced buckloads of drummers, all based around jazz as fundament, but rock is their main forray,

Phil Collins. That snare man, I'm telling you, I love the sound of it. Phil has always been one of my favourites just for his unique and tasteful style - never too complex, yet never too simple; perfect. He's always been a sucker for great fills as well.

Technically I would say Jeff Porcaro, I really enjoy his work. Phil is probably the better drummer of all 3....but your question is "impressive" and for that description I think for me it is Gavin Harrison. His cymbal work, triplets and non-annoying dbl kick bass work is pretty impressive to me.

I got this mental picture of putting the three of them in a ring armed only with drumsticks and having them go at each other.
This brings up another question. Whose skull would make the better percussion instrument?

Well, will not get mentioned on PA that's for sure, maybe over on MMA site. But I do enjoy his work also....I prefer his Soundgarden material better than Pearl Jam. For that hard driving grungy/metal drumming he is pretty good....I agree.
