Hi!

My name is Fernando. I'm from Spain and 39 years old. I'm guitar player in prog rock/metal spanish band Father Golem, and I listen prog rock, prog metal and symphonic rock since... maybe 1992. I listened heavy metal since 1988.

I started listening Marillion, from the first albums with Fish (Script for a Jester's Tear, Fugazi, Misplaced Childhood...) to Radiation. Then I started to listen King Crimson, but I was a bit confused at first with In the Court of the Crimson King, becouse it was difficult for me to get into a totally different style, but when I achieve to make contact with Epitaph I was able to understand King Crimson was the point of entry to the another side of rock. After listening all 70's and 80's King Crimson recordings, I started with Pink Floyd and then, Dream Theater, Death, Rush, Porcupine Tree, Tool, A Perfect Circle... and now I play progressive music with my band, LOL

Cheers!

Sorry, but I only can start topics in this forum. I try to open a new topic for my band in "Suggest new bands" forum, but my user don't have permission, and I don't have permission to open topics in the other forums I tried, like the "Report bug forum"...

How could I fix that?Confused

Regards.

If I understood the rules of the forum, you need to have more posts to be able to open a thread.

Apart from this, bienvenido.

Welcome Fernado! Great evolution of bands you've got there, all great stuff. Hope you find more music here that you'll enjoy and possibly be inspired by. I wish you success with your band.

Thanks, Horizons! Well, we sent some weeks ago our last cd for review in Prog Archives, and as soon as I can, will open the thread for Father Golem in Suggest new bands forum, with links to the songs of our new cd, "I/O".

I'm looking for new progressive bands, mainly for having an idea about  the progressive scene this year, and there are a lot of interesting bands out there! Lord of Mushrooms, for example, are great, and Leprous, too.

The point is Prog Archives is the nexus where the prog bands are, old and new, and this is great for progressive musicians and listeners.

Cheers!
