Just making a thread for these guys seeing as they are my absolute favorite Israeli band and one of my favorites in general and I've seen them 5 times (I think) and each time it actually seems to get better! For anyone who hasn't heard them they could be described as kleyzmer-hardcore-jazz-punk-black/death metal (without the darkness and with a lot of humor). They release two new albums- one recorded live in 2005 (yeah it rhymes!) in Noize recording studio, the other recorded in 2008 and called "Hidden Album" (really really good stuff). One of those new tracks can be heard here:

Other stuff:

cover of Zorn's "Meholaot":

and one off their joint show with France's avant folk punk band Vialka:

and one of their 2004 album "Songs" (my personal favorite):

May I also add they're some of the best live performers particularly Igor (composer and bassist) who can freak the living f**k out and tear out your eyeballs with his death grip. Igor is awesome.

hey man i thought i was dreaming when i saw this thread , i recognized that name immediately, this is crazy good stuff, i didn't know if they still exist , cause i saw them live at the zappa opening for either 'brainvile' with daevid allen or gong with allen and hillage 2 or 3 years ago, and i haven't heard about them beforer , it was like they landed from another planet , igor was so funny everybody just looked at him and loughing their asses off just waiting for him to do something else with his vocals.
their concert was a blast , music was so complex and kicking ass.
did you go to that concert?

Nope I wasn't in Israel at the time Unhappy, but I did see Allen's solo show about a year and a half ago, that as awesome.

And yes K & P is still active, they had a show a week ago, which was fantastic!

Hey men !
Here in France , I made a special radio show about Auris Media , Kruzenshtern I Parohod's label .
They released a bunch of very very very good alums , include the 5 of KIP.
You can listen the show here : http://vraimentautrechose.hautetfort.com/archive/2012/02/21/vraiment-autre-chose-n-43-auris-media-records-radio.html" rel="nofollow - http://vraimentautrechose.hautetfort.com/archive/2012/02/21/vraiment-autre-chose-n-43-auris-media-records-radio.html
It's a french show , witrh tracks from the five kip albums and some other gems released by this israelian wondrful label in a lot of styles , free jazz , contemmporary music , or zappa-and-mr-bungle like , etc....
A good way to discover Igor Krutogolov's playing and composing .
