Hello everybody !
My name is Godefroy, or Chozal as most of my friends call me. I've been lurking on this site since mid-2009 and my discovery of Jethro Tull, but never dared to register.
I was (and still am) a metalhead for several years, the only prog stuff I knew then being Dream Theater. Then one day I bought a Jethro Tull best of -10 euros for 20 songs, I figured at least half the songs would be decent. Plus I used to play the flute for ten years, and I knew there was some flute in this band. Funny story though, my record player was broken at the time, so I went on the Internet to check some of Jethro Tull's stuff and saw some live performances. I was blown away by the quality, both scenic and musical, of the band. After the juvenile revelation I had when first listening to Nightwish, this was a second musical epiphany, and prog rock is my favourite genre ever since, on equal foot with heavy metal.
I'm 20, I study English and Theatre at the university, and I also enjoy useless activities with my hands, namely pen spinning, card flourishing and card magic ^^
It's great to be here =)

Welcome Chozal, glad you decided to register!
There are tons of great bands here, just keep looking.
Top 100 is a great place to start.
Cheers!

I'll have a look around ^^ I mostly listened to famous/classic prog and prog metal for now (although I fell in love with Phideaux's latest efforts) and am getting into the canterbury scene and jazz fusion (I'm studying jazz with my guitar teacher) =)

Thank you =) The next step for me is Miles Davis, Caravan, and The Tangent (to try and keep a foot in less-Canterbury), but Hatfield and the North sounds like a Canterbury must !
