Well, we have seen the adding of Nightwish, Lacrimosa and The Gathering. Granted, not every one is convinced that they belong on the site, but now that they are here, I think Lacuna Coil should be included as well, because they have a very similar style.

Just because there are similar bands in the archives, that doesn't mean that we need more of them ... Seriously, I believe that of those you mentioned only The Gathering are really progressive. But you can always try to suggest them ... although I believe it has been done before, and they were rejected. The admins have the authority about what get's included, even if similar bands are already included.

Lacrimosa are miles away from Nightwish, and both are miles away from Lacuna Coil. Having gothic influences doesn't make music prog! You don't see Sisters of Mercy on here, now do you?

On a slightly offtopic note, I heard some Gathering and wasn't interested at all, but Lacrimosa are bloody amazing!

Every Gathering album is different, which one did you listen to?

Lacrimosa are not among my favorite bands ... not my cup of tea, really. I don't like bands with german lyrics, and their gothic "factor" is a little too high for me ...

Wich Criteria were used to put Nightwish on the list? I'd really like to know them. A part of me really wants to know, and the other part totally disagrees.

if Nightwish is questionable, do not add Lacuna Coil.  I bought one of their records and it was just awful.  I enjoy nightwish, but they arent really prog, just symphonic goth.

Lacrimosa are fantastic - I have a compilation with them on it and that track of theirs gets thrashed.

I have been a long time fan of Lacuna Coil and feel that they are worthy of these archives. I would also like to add the Dutch group, Within Temptation. I have grouped them always with Nightwish, Gathering, Rhapsody, Stratovarious and the like. Power Symphonic Metal!!

yes, if nightwish and the gatherig are on this site, lacuna coil must be here too...

lacrimosa is prog in many ways, but the others not at all... lacuna coil sounds like the gathering, one is here the other not

I don't dislike LACUNA COIL, but they are certainly less progressive and
less original than THE GATHERING, LACRIMOSA or NIGHTWISH. I would
say they are an extremely marginal case for inclusion.

The Gathering and Lacuna Coil couldn't be more different.

The Gathering does, Lacuna Coil doesn't (and they aren't in the archives).

The Gathering is an amazing band who take their music very seriously. Lacuna Coil is a chart oriented band, similar to Evanesence or Within Temptation. The kind of band who would pose for fotographers in a medieval setting and the female singer in a beautiful white dress.
