Showbox in Seattle.....small venue, probably holds 1200 all standing room only.....and freaking LOUD too. Good thing though....there is an open roomed bar for when I need a refreshment.

Here it is. . .

Sweet, they're coming to Pittsburgh...I'm totally there.

(though I question having it at an amphitheater in early October, but what the heck)

Ours is inside....weird as September around here is pretty sweet....but again this is Seattle, no huge volume of prog fans....
Mention prog around here and people think it is a new type of cordouroy or fleece material......LOL

Sweet! Does that mean that Europe is next?
I know that they did a few summer gigs here but that couldn't have been it, at least if you look at it historically.

Seattle should be a sold out show. They had a sizeable crowd at the 5,000 seat WAMU Theatre on the Systematic Chaos tour. So, with only 1,200 fitting into Showbox SODO it should be pretty packed. I am looking forward to the show.

Pittsburgh is over 300 miles from here - New York is about 90.

For everyone interested in DT european shows:

In a recent pre-show fan video made in Rome John Petrucci gets asked when will "A Dramatic Turn of Events" tour arrive in Europe. His answer was: "Not in the winter, MAYBE in spring. We still got North-America and Japan to do."

I hope they still got some gunpowder left, when that eventually happensWink

iTunes free download of the week is the Trivium song Forsake Not The Dream.  I'm not familiar with them at all, so now I can check them out.  Expectations aren't very high as a result of reading this thread, but what the heck. LOL

They're basically high quality metalcore without the cheesyness. Shogun is actually a really good album; it has a lot of progressive twists as well.

My buddies and I bought our tickets to the Montreal show...our billionth concert of 2011!(Aussie Floyd, Rush, Deep Purple, RTF IV, Peter Frampton all before the start of the summer...we're rounding out the year with Daltrey's Tommy show, DT and some killer center-fourth row seats for Anderson and Wakeman) I once had a very damaging experience at a death metal/thrash metal whatever the hell they want to call it show, where I was cornered against the stage by moshpitting idiots, right next to the right channel tower and right under the terrible band. We've since put into action a "no sh*tty music live clause," and our group will be arriving fashionably late to this show. No Trivium for these stuck-up kids. lol  Anyway, I can't wait for the show!! They've been playing "The Count" on this tour. I hope they keep it in the setlist. I'll be leading a chant for "Octavarium" regularly, though. :p

Thanks!! My wife and I drove down in 2010 for the Rush Time Machine show at Mountainview.........maybe next time, we did like the venue.

Just received notice that the Seattle show has been moved from the Showbox to The Moore Theater due to high demand!!!!! This is awesome theater, filled with much musical history especially the grunge era. Queensryche filmed Mindcrime DVD there, so has Alice/Chains and the famous MTV video for Pearl Jam showing Vedder jumping into the crowd. And its not GA....stadium seating with 2 balconys.......Its gonna be a great show now at a better venue.

That would be sweet. There's a section in the middle of the setlist when they play their softer stuff, so they very well could. Big smile

Last night's show in Seattle was the San Francisco set list basically.  (Admit I did not enjoy Trivium one bit). The Moore was packed all the way to the back of the balcony, so if it was not sold out it would have only missed by literally a handful of people.

Lots of energy from the band. Good set list, lots of the new stuff. Would have liked to have heard something from Black Clouds as they skipped Seattle on that tour, but oh well.  My only gripe as that where I was sitting the sound mix was horrible: essentially a wall of mud with way too much guitar and drum in the mix. James' voice was drowned out half the time and unless John stopped playing you could barely hear any keyboards and almost no bass at all. Other than that a great show.
