Can someone explain to me why this is supposed to be better than Facebook, besides giving people a grace period before their parents join and embarrass them once more?

1) You organize your friends into "circles" and can publish things only in certain circles and even use different names/photos for each one, I think. The people who are not in the circle don't even know it exists. And
2) It's invite only so that makes it cool.
3) Facebook is evil, man.

That's the thing - you put your parents in the family circle and they don't see the passed-out drunk stupid photos you post in the friends circle.  Wink

I guess it might matter (a little bit)...eventually. And I know it's still in beta but it doesn't feel very different, except for somehow feeling more smart phone friendly, which of course I don't care about since I don't have one.

Hopefully it's better because they won't change it (for the worse) on a bi-weekly basis.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of them, they are a fairly large internet company primarily known for their search engine.

It's also a villain in an early 20th century children's novel.

Didn't bother with MySpace, not bothering with Facebook, not gonna bother with Google+.

And I'm sure you're all eternally grateful.

I'm pretty sure you could make certain things accessable to certain people on FB. Not sure if it applies to photos and I have no idea how to do it, but I know you can with certain things.

On Facebook they are called "friend lists"... You can hide and show things very specific on Facebook.
