French band Lazuli performed a very good concert in my hometown last friday, not easy to descibe their music except saying it's very original, with some Ange and Gabriel influences and french lyrics,it's sometimes not far from Crimson or Floyd but with a real strong personality, the music is powerful and a bit dark , you can have a listen to their last album tittled 4603 battements ( 4603 beats ) but it's quite better on stage, it's seems they're more popular in germany and netherland where they had several gigs but they realy deserve to be more known, and more ,we had a dinner at home in the garden, the day before the show and they are nice and heartly poeple Heart Thumbs Up

You had dinner with the band at home? That's nice.

I thought they disbanded some time ago, though.

They haven't toured for about one year and the keys player and the drummer are new young musicians, they'll be at the Prog Sud ( a prog festival in South france ) soon, Happy to see youknow them Smile The new lineup is Claude Leonetti Leode, Gederic Byar guitar, Vincent Barnavol Drums Percussions Marinba, Romain Thorel Keys French Horn, Dominique Leonetti Vocals Guitar

I'm covering the new album on this week's show. Very nice as always. I too thought they split up in 2009. I saw them at ROSFest on The USA some months before the announcement. Obviously they kept it going. And That's a good thing.

It is a shame they are not more well known because they are certainly an entertaining group to experience! And they obviously have a heck of a lot of fum while they play! The various instrumentation is a joy.

From feedback  I get from listeners to my show about groups that sing in their native languages(any, not just French), it can be a stumbling point for some.

Yes i agree the band changed a bit with the two new musicians but it's still worth listening, i'm so much surprised but happy to know you know them in San Jose, California, all the best from France Smile

Yes, it's the Leode created by Claude Leonetti, it sounds kind of slide or keys, amazing

recently I've been listening to the 2009 album 'Response incongrue'. (cover art with the wooden park horse). Very good album.  Entertaining yet sophisticated. very good playing and arrangements. excellent vocals. great band, and wonderful pics here in this thread!
