I've been there for a while, already finding lots of new avant jazz and non-avant jazz to love.

Also, Jay - seems you haven't listened to many 2011 albums yet, have you?  I think this is the first time I've seen an album with a 3/10 rating in a "Favorites" list. LOL

I'm taking recommendations...

I'm assuming the list will evolve through the year. Lots of good stuff coming.

If you like some out-of-this-world instrumental trio stuff, I'd definitely recommend the new Korekyojinn album.

This is great news. Saw this on my Facebook feed and just about crapped myself. It'll be interesting to see the differences of opinions on albums that are on both sites, e.g. Birds of Fire and Bitches Brew

PS Triceratops... Loving your Last.fm tracks. Always gotta throw on Concierto De Aranjuez a few more times after the album stops

Listing all jazz artists under the sun is even more pretentions than listing all prog artists under the sun.

Jazz archives manages to be even more prog than progarchives. LOL

Hi,

I've been asked ... and yeah, I might want to be a part of that more ... and my expertise? ... only if you all allow the creation of a new style of jazz ... and I wanna call it ECM-Jazz ... because in the end ... there is no other description for it!

And you already know some of the people I would review ... with one bad side to it ... I am really not well versed on Blue Note, Miles, and all that jazz ... at all ... I've heard a fair bit of it, but I have no grounds for reviewing it and discussing it ... but when it comes to Eberhard Weber, Charlie Haden, Egberto Gismonti, Jan Garbarek, Terje Rypdal, Keith Jarrett ... yeah ... I can easily review 50 albums right now!  But I will admit that I am not up to snuff with the more recent stuff that ECM has ... just can't afford all this stuff, and I still have to get the "No Caipira" CD ... !
