...and I believe you can help me out. I usually get new albums a while after their release, for example out of all the albums I got in 2010, only about three of them I actually knew about/planned to get in advance. So my request is simply for some information concerning albums that will be coming out in 2011 and the nearish future. Don't worry about specific genre or anything, i'm just looking for some quality music to look forward to. thanks, you guys rock.

I'm looking forward to new releases by Rush, Mastodon, Neurosis, Dream Theater, Tool, The Mars Volta, all hopefully in '11.

I think the new album by Mikel Akerfeldt and Steven Wilson would be release later this year. And I hope(like in every year) for a new Peter Gabriel album.

Devin Townsend has 2 albums being released simultaneously in May. #4 of DTProject is already done, and you can hear parts of it on youtube. #3 is the most complex, and is currently being recorded.
Grayceon is March, first track is on their myspace and sound very promising.

Looking forward to that, Beardfish's "Mammoth", Opeth's new album which won't be metal and sounds fusion-ish according do Akerfeldt, Steven Wilson's second solo album and his collaboration with Mikael Akerfeldt. And I think DT's Portnoy-less CD will sound better. -------------

No - it's specified for a Summer 2011 release date, so expect it around July... It was never destined for 2012, 2010 at one point, yes, but never 2012. -------------

I can't wait for the new Yes album that is my most anticipated release of the last few years for me as there has been talk of it for a long time. And Anglagard's return is a really exciting prospect as Hybris and Prolog are 2 of my most played albums at the moment. I had heard Dream Theater were doing some recording in the winter but we probably won't be seeing anything till 2012 -------------

He his working on this thing with the New Blood Orchestra, he is making new orchestral versions to his older stuff And He said that all his discography will be remastered in 5.1(maybe except his first album), and it's rumored to be released later this year.

Hi,
To be honest with you, it doesn't matter to me if someone/something comes out tomorrow or next year or not ... that is not the way that I find music, and that music finds me at all.
Music just "happens" for me ... we meet, or we don't. And it is not exclusive to anything in particular.
I don't want to know ... I want to be surprised, and simply love it! ... the rest is not important. It wouldn't change my appreciation of Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze or Mike Oldfield or Ryuichi Sakamoto, or Vangelis ... and I couldn't give a damn about way too over rated rock bands calling themselves "progressive".
Go for the music ... forget the rest, or your appreciation suffers. I could say that I always look forward to another Hawkwind or Guru Guru album, but in my book, it is not necessary ... I love them enough as it is ... progressive cacadoodle or not! ------------- Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Devin Townsend, Steven Wilson, and Mikael Akerfeldt have all been busy men in 2010-11, and that excites me to no end.
Also looking forward to releases from Rush, Yes, and VdGG. No idea Yes had an album due!

Also a new album from Threshold, Circus Maximus (?), Andromeda, TesseracT, Pain of Salvation (likely), Riverside EP, The Tangent (probably won't come out till 2012 though), an Arjen solo album, and a new redemption album (?) and the ones already mentioned that I am looking foward to are Yes, VDGG, Opeth, DT, Marillion (?), Arena, Rush, Symphony X, and Tool.
