StarThis sub-genre of progressive rock is used to describe
bands like Greenslade, Colosseum, Web or Atomic Rooster.

Altho Surrey Sound is a loose concept and not as easy to
describe as Canterbury Scene it' is/was still quite independent.
The Surrey Sound is a mix of Jazz-Rock and Symphonic Rock
and/or Hard Rock.

It's hard to see a link in the "sound" between the bands you mention. Perhaps you could tell us more, and what your thread seeks to elicit.Big smile

It's a term I've seen mentioned many times even at progarchives.com. Basically
the "link" is more geographic than musical. I mean how much does Comus to do with Camel,
altho they are both considered as Canterbury Scene bands. As I said it's a loose concept. Mainly
the Surrey Sound is linked to the Family-tree of Colosseum, The Web and their fusion Greenslade.
These bands have much to do with each other in a musical sense.

Ps: I only posted this topic to gain more information about Surrey SoundSmile
