Emma Ruth Rundle (of Red Sparowes) is also in a band called The Nocturnes.  They play something vaguely reminiscent of old-school psych rock/folk with elements of post-punk and some other stuff too I guess.  Emma Ruth Rundle calls it "folk-stoner-rock/sad core" on their http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/The-Nocturnes/60346236648 - facebook page , which contains sample songs that can also be listened to on their http://www.myspace.com/thenocturnesmusic - myspace page

I ordered their cd, just got it 2 days ago, it's very good Thumbs Up

We Psych Team have already evaluated lots of psych-rock bands like The Nocturnes and sadly all (at lease in my memory) have been rejected.

Indeed good old-fashioned indie psych, but not progressive nor related, via their MySpace samples ... sorry but my 2 cents.

Good indie-folk. There are progressive merits to this, I'll notify the Prog Folk team and leave it on them to decide.

hmm, they aren't even listed on progfreak.  Aren't they being evaluated?

The PF team doesn't use ProgFreak. I'll look to see if they decided anything.

The response was mixed, and one more vote is needed for a final decision to be taken. Thumbs Up

This is some pretty cool stuff. I wouldn't necessarily call it prog folk but it is still great stuff.

I think they got cleared, but you should contact the PFT members to make sure (and to offer your help Wink). Bob (ClemOfNazareth) was a fan.

So I sent out a couple PMs like 8 billion years ago and never got an answer from anybody.

Also, apparently they are putting out another album soon so they have made A Year Of Spring http://thenocturnes.bandcamp.com/album/a-year-of-spring" rel="nofollow - available for free download.   The CD can still be purchased (and comes in a very nice digipack I might add)

I see there is a Kickstarter for their new album and next tour

edit: apparently the album is DONE and you can only get it through the kickstarter, until it's officially released in August.

The team has put the band on hold. That is, they recognize the folky and progish alternative aspects of it, but would rather wait until a new release to see if they move in a more progressive direction.

Was that before or after Aokigahara was released?  at the time they evaluated them only A Year of Spring was out.  The more recent album definitely qualifies, I'd say

When was the new album released? The PFT made their decision in March of this year.

I put it under 'promos' because it was self-released (not on a label), which I think is the site's policy.  I'll check on that though and move it if I'm wrong.

Well, I moved it already LOL
To the best of my knowledge, there are no sanctions on independent releases. Quite a few albums would need to be moved if that was the case! As an example, X by Spock's Beard was self-released. Wink

you should tell all the other collabs to do that too Wink

Also, I'd say A Year Of Spring would have been released on Errant Child if Rundle had started up the label in time.  It's essentially the same thing
