I'd like to recommend the one-man band 413 for consideration of inclusion into PA.

413 is the one-man band helmed by bassist David Pisabarro, hailing from the Basque region of Spain.  He's released two albums under this band, Reschith and, most recently, Path to Hocma.  The music could be described as avant-metal, though that sound is heard more strongly in the first release.  The newest album Path to Hocma could be described as a mixture between art rock, post-rock, post-hardcore, and Basque folk.  All of his music is self-funded and self-released and can be downloaded for free from his website:

Here are some song samples:

While the vocals are obviously hit or miss with most people the music is undeniably excellent and pretty original.

Fixed the links, sorry about that.  I used links from the Youtube user account instead of the actual video link, which didn't work for some reason.

After a praliminary sit-through, I don't think this album really fits prog metal. . . It is not metal enough IMHO.

Maybe it would be better in another genre, like heavy prog, for example. Wink

Download Path to Hocma and give it a listen, I'm almost positive there's enough metal in the entire album to make it into the genre.

I listened to that album plus Reschith, both available in the band's site and myspace. I find they are too hardcore to fit in progressive metal, but I might be thinking one-dimentionally (if that is even a word LOL).

What kind of sub-genre were you thinking for them? Experimental/Post?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the title of the thread is "413 for Experimental/Post", which is what my intentions for the band was from the beginning. LOL

Definitely not in progressive metal, you're right, there's too much post-hardcore extremities in there.

He definitely deserves a PA placement; post/exp. metal seems to be the only place he'd really fit.

They are progressive enough, probably metal enough too, but the vocals aren't my thing.

As much as I hate to be a party pooper, I'll remember you guys (again) that this artist is unsigned according to PA policy.

This album will not be sold neither in physical nor in digital format. There will only be a donation link via PayPal for anyone who wants to contribute. You can also get it for free and under Creative Commons license on direct download in the official website www.the-413.com. You can ask for the physical format of the LP on the website or sending an e-mail to [email protected]. The album will also be available in some spots of different cities, which will be confirmed soon.
