Today let me recommend an Aussie tremendous psychedelic progressive rock outfit ...
The GRUNTLED.

As
their MySpace page says, The GRUNTLED started their career with a
contribution for a cover of a '60s Australian garage punk song to
Melbourne radio station 3CR's "Wild About You" ... amazingly. The
founding members - Nick, Ricarda, Matt (on drums) - did The Missing Links' "You're
Drivin' Me Insane", such a psychedelia-tinged old-fashioned song. Later
Matt switched to a bass player and they recruited Richard as a
guitarist, and John, then Skull, as "the drummers".
The
GRUNTLED have already released a studio-recorded compilation
(Compilation of recordings 2004-2008), two EPs (Live At 3PBS 2008, The
Ball Of A Hundred Kings), and one DVD (The Ball Of A Hundred Kings:
recorded in live at 3PBS in 2009).

We can be taken away into transcendental meditation by The Ball Of A Hundred Kings. The
GRUNTLED are an Australian Psych / Kraut / Avant improvised and
multi-instrumental combo, and they crammed their essence into this EP.
Various instrumental blows and shocking effective effects can be in.
Based upon simple and sticky rhythm circumstance by deep bass and "the
drums" sounds, a fuzzy cloudy guitar solo can be warped around.
Electronic cosmic noises remind us some hypnotic (sometimes cataleptic)
Krautrock texture. Sometimes much medieval or Oriental ideology flies
into us through our ears. Their "world" opens widely step by step, like
ritual in the dark and fire. We must palpitate more and more, as this
world goes ahead. Namely, the former part is quiet and meditative as a
funeral, the middle is aggressive as cannibalism, and the last is
remarkably sublimate as a tribal rite ... absolutely drenched with soft
sunlight, woody hillside air, misty rain, yeah natural power.
In
conclusion, let me say their music policy in this EP cannot be blurred
or fluctuated at all. Consider they may always try to make us meditated
into our deep subliminal ground.
Anyway, Richard also sent his "letter" to me ... what a good man!
