Sorry PFM, you are only an onlooker here (hope, it's the correct English word for it).
What I did in the last two times, I repeat for the third time: I made a list of my top 10 Genesis and Yes albums:
1. Close to the Edge 2. Foxtrot 3. The Lamb... 4. Selling England... 5. Fragile 6. The Yes Album 7. Nursery Cryme 8. Relayer 9. Magnification 10. Wind and Wuthering
Now I gave the first 10 points, the second 9 etc. Then I summed up the values for Genesis and Yes. Result: Genesis: 29 Yes: 26 The one with the most points gets my vote (again).

This isn't a poll to decide the best of the three; this is a poll to find out how many Genesis fans will switch to PFM, how many Yes fans will switch to PFM, and which of these groups has more (and consequently, which of the two bands will then win).
As I'm sure everyone is doing, I'm sticking to my favourite, who I also voted for in the last 17 million of these polls.......

Well, I guess it would be rather unfair that only those people who have heard PFM can have their vote about whe among Genesis and Yes can move on. In the end, this poll is really about whom of those 2 will go on. As a matter of fact, the winner of this whole tournament, as far as this polls have shown us, should be a tie between Genesis and Yes (well, of course, unless King Crimson and Pink Floyd have something to say about it). Perhaps the best way to break the tie would be having the Semi-Finals as Pink Floyd VS Genesis and King Crimson VS Yes, and then have both winners in the final (and all of us would be damned if both Genesis and Yes won their respective matches, or if both semifinals would prove unable to get a clear winner).

Admittedly, I’m more familiar with Genesis and Yes than PFM. Still I know them well enough to have an opinion:
1) PFM are an extraordinary band with some outstanding music. Yet, 2) for me, Genesis are better. Not much better, just better.
In a poll between PFM and Yes I might vote for PFM, just for the sake of it. Yes would still have won.

Seriously? I'm willing to bet that 150 regulars to this site have in fact heard an album from all three. PFM is fairly known in these circles. They have enough respect on this site that those of us that didn't know of them before we came here have probably picked up an album of theirs out of curiosity.

True. I did not know PFM before I joined PA, but because of its high ratings I listened a lot of them in the past weeks. And I really like it. But against two of my favourite bands they are no contest. (If it was PFM against Magma, it would give me some more thinking...)

What PFM has in common with Genesis and Yes is the poorness of its 80s, but if we look at those 3 bands starting from the 90s, PFM and Yes had a sort of resurrection. It didn't happen to Genesis.

Genesis, definitely. Peter Gabriel's Genesis is nothing short of magical. I mean, I love Yes, but Gabriel's Genesis evokes something within me to an extent that Yes' never quite managed to. I never got into PFM that much, so they're pretty much out of the picture altogether here.

Another tie. But PFM are in a rather unfortunate position.
What odds from the bookies on Yes beating Genesis 91-91? PFM 15.

I think somebody is still cheating and keeping the score tied. It is almost impossible for the third time a tie between two.

If it was a tie two times in arow why wouldn't it be possible to have a tie the third time?

Once we knew what we were looking for, tracking down and dealing with the "persons" responsible for cheating on the GY!BE vs Rush poll was relatively simple. The accounts in question have been suspended and the "people" behind them given permabans that includes blocking of the IP addresses of the two ISPs "they" used.
Since this poll was created and has been running while we have been monitoring the site activity very closely, ehere is no similar evidence for cheating in this poll. That's not to say there hasn't been any, it's just we haven't seen it.

Usually popular polls get 100-120 votes. but Genesis vs Yes Polls always close to 200 votes (like in Rush GYBE poll) thats why i am thinking there could be a cheating.

Doesn't seem like any cheating...Dean has already posted a process which pretty much closes the door on multiple accounts with same ISP's. Now I guess if someone really wants to do some high end internet cheating...maybe, but why go thru all the trouble.
I think the poll just shows how a lot of people here in PA think/feel about Genesis and Yes.
Is there an actual day/time to close these polls?
