Welcome to Round 3 Division 8 of Battle of the Prog Bands! This time our two contenders are Rush and Godspeed You! Black Emeperor. Vote for your favorite, and the band with the most votes will move onto Round 3. Please do not vote unless you have listened to at least one album by both artists.
Here is the tournament thus far:

A rather odd comparison. I pick GY!BE as Rush just hasn't been doing it for me lately.

GY!BE are one of my biggest PA recommendation disappointments. Rush are my favorite band. I do believe that the distance in Jon's equation probably applies to me as well. -------------

Wow, first GY!BE beat tool, and now tied with Rush? I underestimated them. Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of Rush, and GY!BE is probably my favourite post-rock band, so I'll go with them.

I am absolutely amazed that this is as close as it is. I personally voted Rush, though there's a part of me that would enjoy seeing GY!BE win just to get a newer band further on.

I am astonished at how close this is. I keep forgetting how many people hate Rush. It really makes me worry about their chances in the next round (not that it matters since Floyd or Zappa will knock them out before the final.)

Zappa vs Rush......I mean that makes no sense really. I will agree with you though they would loose. I would be happy to loose against Pink Floyd or Genesis...but Zappa?? I am not sure I would vote in that one as more of a protest...

What the heck happened, yesterday at this time it was practically tied. In the last 24 hours Rush got 50 votes and Godspeed got five? In all fairness though, this is more along the lines of what I was expecting.

I was pretty surprised by the turnout, too.
