Hyperborea = the land beyond the home of the North Wind (Borea), who was supposed to live in Thrace  (currently Bulgaria). It was one of many legendary lands to the Greeks and Romans, a land where the sun shone 24 hours a day, and everything else was perfect. Its inhabitants were believed to live into their thousands. ^okey cool, it realy depends on where you are though, up in the northern countiesTroms and Finnmark at summer time the sun will shine for 24 houres, while in midwinter it will not shine at all for 3 months.

and we dont get 1000 years (though many lives up til 80 years)

The czech artist David Cerny made a sculpture "Entropa" under commission for the Czech Republic to mark the occasion of its presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2009.
The sculpture shows the countries of the EU not connected but as pieces in a model kit. Each country shows a stereotype. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropa - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entropa
and

The sculpture led to a controversy because of its satirical notion, which seemed to be dishonourable for the office. Also some countries felt offended.

Yeah, this one was caused a lot of controversy, but it's also one of few things that Europe knows about Czech Republic.

That it's the home of this daring (called by some) or stupid (by others) "thing".

Since I live on the Greek island Rhodes, I appear to live in a democracy in a swimming pool, close to thanksgiving meal. Not bad at all. Only that the Greeks call turkey (the bird, not the country) galopoula, which means, if I’m not mistaken, french bird.
