First of all: a time machine that would bring the following musicians from the 70s

L.A. Spinetta - Vocals and Guitar
Charly García - Keyboards and Vocals
Neil Murray - Bass
Oscar Giunta - Drums
Ruben Rada - Percussion and Vocals
Leo Sujatovich - Keyboards (mainly synths)

Symphonic meets Fusion meets Latin.

Okay, if that wasn't too symphonic, again first I'll need a time machine and then the following:

John Evan - B3 Hammond Organ
Tony Banks - Mellotron, Piano and ocassional Organ
Greg Lake - Vocals
Jon Anderson - Vocals
Richard Sinclair - Bass and ocassional singing
Andy Latimer - Guitar

Steve Walsh - Vocals, keyboards
Steve Howe - Guitar
Steve Hacket - Guitar
Thijs van Leer - Keyboards, vocals
Rick Wakeman - Keyboards
Geddy Lee - Bass, vocals
Neil Peart - Drums and assorted percussion

Three keyboardists.  Three singers.  Three guys named Steve.  What more could you want?

None of these are looking nearly as symphonic as mine

I was thinking of making up a list for an actual orchestra built off string and horn players from prog and jazz bands but decided that was far too much work

  1. Male Vocals: Peter Gabriel
  2. Female Vocals: Annie Hasslam
  3. Guitar: Steve Hackett
  4. Guitar: Steve Howe
  5. Piano:Vittorio Nocenzzi
  6. Mellotron & Keyboards: Tony Banks
  7. Bass: Tony Levin

I know one, but I don't know if it's symphonic.

Robert Fripp:Guitar, Mellotron, Soundscapes
Jaco Pastorius: Fretless Bass, Bass Guitar
Patrick Moraz:main Keyboards
Bill Bruford:Drums, Percussion
Mel Collins:Saxophone
David Cross:Violin, additional Keyboards
Ian Anderson:Lead Vocal, Flute

It's like a mixture of jazz/fusion, symphonic, prog folk, and metal.

Yngwie Malmsteen-Guitar
Mark Robertson- Keyboards, from Cairo
Bill Bruford-Drums
Doug Shreeve-Bass, from Planet X

Assuming that they would be back to their good years of course...

Vocals:   Greg Lake & Annie Haslam
Guitars:   Steve Hackett & Robert Fripp
Bass:    Chris Squire  (incl. Backing Vocals)
Piano & Hammond:   Keith Emerson
Synths:    Tony Banks
Drums:   Neil Peart
Percussions:    Bill Bruford
Violin:      Eddie Jobson
Flute:     Ian Anderson
Winds:    Mel Collins

not very original I know...

I would also like some vibraphone but I cant think of any players in symphonic prog, although Spyro Gyra's Dave Samuels would do a nice job.  Ah, and some harp here and there, but hopefully someone better than Jon Anderson Wink  any suggestions? (otherwise we bring back Harpo Marx) LOL
