Computer moron here.

I need something to open Zip files from a downloaded album (legal one!)

Would this be a good  option?  Note simplicity is key here....don't care about features, etc.....just want to open this damn file and move the music to MusicMatch Jukebox.

Would this work?

I use 7-Zip for .Zip and .Rar files, I think it's great.

Thanks guys.

Downloaded the 7-zip, extracted.  Can't figure out how to get the file from the 7-zip area to my MusicMatch Jukebox Library so I can play it.

Tried to move it, copy it, it just  doesn't appear.

You have to extract the folder to a location of your choice before using the files. If you extracted it but are still trying to open it from the 7-zip window, it won't work - figure out where you extracted it to, then try it from there.

Out of convenience, I extract everything to my Desktop and then move the files where I want them.

If you have a music folder, you should be able to extract directly to there, though.

Can someone try downloading this album and  see if it works for you.  All I'm getting is graphics for the artwork and PDF files

Just click where it says "free" and tell me if you are getting actual music files from this.

Is that a strategy to spread a killer RPI "virus" among us, Jim?  Wink

Apparently I'm downloading a 68.7 MB zip archive, I'll let you know what happened in 40 minutes (according to my browser).

Ok, I get music files. They are in MP3 format and appear to be duplicated.

Yep, but the duplicated ones are false I think.

Wasted pretty much a whole Sat trying to download an album.  Epic fail.  My download experiment ends before it begins.

CDs rock.

this archive seems to be created on a MACintosh computer and then opened under Windows, you can ignore the files with a leading point. Download works for me too.

There's one thing we absolutely agree on.

I'm a Winzip user.  Before that PKZip.  I don't think the built-in zip in Windows allows you to back up and restore to the same location.  Quite likely I just haven't explored it enough.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I fail to see why he couldn't unzip the album.

I'm genuinely puzzled. How big is the file you downloaded?
