After four years in the closet I pulled my Squier Fender Strat(just as good as an American Strat IMO) out and cleaned it up and restrung it(D'Addario lights). But not after buying a Peavey Vypyr amp. This thing has a lot of effects and I bought it after reading glowing reviews online. I live in an apt. so 15 watts is enough. I've just gotten to "know it" but I would enjoy posts from other strat and Peavey owners. This should be fun learning and your input is welcome!

For a Fender guitar and Peavey amp, I use these:

1999 Fender American Stratocaster with Texas Special Pickups and my late grandfather's Peavey Stereo Chorus 212- amazing amp.

The Vyper is a digital modelling amp, isn't it?  You won't likely be happy with it

If you want low-wattage, get a Fender Champ or an Orange Tiny Terror

I've got a Squier Strat. When my fingers have stopped bleeding, from the 'high-action' effect, I'm gonna use it to grate cheese.

Shredding is awesome, but not when it's yer' finger-tips.

LOL
