I know some old school might hang draw and quarter me over this but I'm thinking I enjoy Redemption more than Fate's Warning, that Redemption may be Ray Alder's finest work. They're more or less the same band but Redemption play things a lot heavier AND prettier, when the material calls for it. They're grander, thicker, more satisfying. Now I know Fate's Warning are a lot more important having come first and hugely influencing the course of progressive metal- without them there would almost certainly be no Dream Theater- so of course I'm not alleging that Redemption are as crucial to the evolution of prog metal. In fact much as I like Redemption I'm quite content to agree that they're irrelevant to the evolution of prog metal because they don't do much new, they just do what they do do very well, with less flaws or irritating moments than FW.

Agree? Or am I mad?
