Cavernous is a 4 member group form Houston playing instrumental (technical) prog metal (in the lines of Scale The Summit, though less technical sounding).

Their Myspace blurb: We formed in the summer of '08 and since then have embarked upon a short
tour to the West Coast and back, been nominated for "Best New Act" by
the Houston Press, released a self-titled six track album and have
played some pretty fun shows around town. We're an instrumental band
unless someone with the right talents and skills was to fall into our
lap. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Cavernous, feel
free to email us at [email protected]
See you at a show!

This is a really hard one. I know their guitarist, Harrison and he's a fantastic player, lover of prog and metal (lol) but I don't get an overall feeling of prog metal with the music of Cavernous. I suggest crossover prog as they have more in common with bands like Coheed and Cambria and Dredg than they do with, let's say, Dream Theater or Symphony X.
