my band Concentric is in the process of being approved by ProgArchives, but in
the meantime i wanted to give those who are willing to listen a link to
a free download of the entire record. you can access it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?nfjzyy5jnmn - - http://www.mediafire.com/file/nfjzyy5jnmn/Concentric-Immeasurable-Unsigned.zip we are a progressive instrumental acoustic band, and very complex, with a major focus of dense melody and counterpoint. i hope you guys enjoy it, and if you listen, please give some feedback. thanks for listening! jerry/concentric

Listened to it last night, really great stuff. Lots of elements of math-rock with some eastern acoustic sounds. Really great playing, too
My favourite track is Inspiration.
Great job guys!

Going by the PA definitions, I think eclectic might be a good fit because of the mix of math-rock, metal and eastern folk sounds.

I'm with Joel. Eclectic is the best fit. I just listened to the album the other day, and loved it. It's got a lot of Michael Hedges in it, whether the band themselves realize it or not. That's not a bad thing at all, by the way.

Wow, I haven't been so surprised in a long time. Excellent work! Hearing the "tzambal" (on Familiarity, Rock Island and one other track at the beginning of the album) was a great "wtf moment"
Joel's analysis is very good but I'm not sure the Eclectic guys will approve the band. I think the guys at Math Rock and Prog-Metal should hear this too.

i was in doubt about this one, it has many math rock elements, it could fit in post rock/math rock category. But it also can be added to eclectic, so why not we suggest it to eclectic team also. i will now add now Concentric to the progfreak charts for evaluation, so will see the result, and if it both teams agree on their inclusion later we will decide where to add them.

Will download tomorrow, listen tomorrow and fortunately, write a review. Here :-) - later move it to album page
Hope that process of addition will be successful, you guys have really set me on a course of anticipating this album a lot ;-)

you guys are being really supportive, and that's awesome-looking forward to a review! in late march we were asked to play an electric set that will be live broadcast on the internet. that should be fun.

Very good job...this work definitely merits inclusion on our post rock / math rock page. Sure there are metal elements, but this is math rock at its heart. The use of acoustic guitars is a nice new wrinkle on the genre. Definitely will be spinning this one a fair bit in the future!

Any movement on this? After listening again to the album, it does certainly have Math elements though I'd say a touch more Postrock than Mathrock-- however, either category would work. If unwanted in Postrock, they'd surely have a place in Math.
Let me know, you Posties

Concentrictech: you should replace the file that was deleted so other Team members can have a listen.. I've informed both Eclectic and Postrock teams about this thread and provided them with the LastFM samples

hey guys, thanks for the interest in the band. I wasn't aware that the link expired, so I'll have the other guitar player Jim re-upload it and let you know when it's back online. he's the computer wiz in the band. I'd do it myself if i was sure i wouldnt mess it up somehow. we do have that live broadcast coming up on the 27th, and its the entire next record done electrically, so there's some definite edge to the performance and i feel it's our strongest material. thanks again guys, progkidjoel especially for the kid words and support! jerry
