New to this site but love it. However, is there a facility for hiding avatars? I'd like to browse the site but get fed up of seeing thousands of avatars, album covers, hairy men, etc.

No offence to those who love them, it's just not my cuppa.

I've done a  search but cannot find advice on switching them off.

Cheers SB.

Here's a tip for removing 'unsitely' Avatars. First start by selecting a heavy duty piece of construction paper. Using a straight edge and a pair of scissors (rounded points of course) cut a strip that is 9" by 1 and 3/4". Apply a small line of glue (I prefer Elmers) to one side of your paper strip and press that side firmly against the computer monitor screen on the far left edge of the screen (be sure to place your paper strip with the long side running vertically, not horizontally). Avatars are gone!!! Not a moment too soon either, the only thing worse than hairy men is modern art.

^ welcome to PA, sorry I don't have any real advice. Maybe tomorrow when the Brits arise one of the more computer savvy admins might have a tip for you, but I wouldn't count on it, they're a surly bunch you know.

If you're running Firefox, and have adblock, then you can block them with adblock.

Everyone loves hairy men born without legs.

Some of the other forums I regularly visit use Invision and that software offers the ability to hide signatures and avatars etc. Webwhiz either doesn't offer this or the Webmaster has not enabled it.
I can ask him. Smile

I agree that there should be an option to hide avatars and signatures, if you are so inclined.

But since you're not (maybe?) don't say it and don't make this worthless post, FFS.

The only avatar I'd like to hide is the one with the dots that look like they're moving. Can't remember whose it is now.

It's nice, I downloaded your avatar image and played it. But because I have animation on web pages turned off, I didn't know about it.

Also, I have seen picture of Tony's horse already before on other forum, so I know about his running.
