A great drummer who has been in numerous projects. Please do not choose the band you prefer rather pick which one you think represents the best of his of his ability; in terms of style/technique, composition, passion, /all those things that make a great musician. I voted for his solo works. If it was a list it would look somewhat like this: 1)Solo 1.25)Crimson 2)Earthworks 3)UK 4)Upper Extremities 5)ABWH 6)Moraz 7)Yes |

I don't know if it's just a matter of nostalgia, but I have a realy fond feeling for the Bruford albums and the first Moraz/Bruford album. Ad far as technical abilities go, I can't really offer a proper evaluation of that. ------------- Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I thought Pavlov's Dog and Roy Haper would be good a good 'others' choice. But I am kicking myself for forgetting National Health! ...shame on me, -10 prog points. (btw, we now need a prog point system for such faux pas  ) |

I totally agree. No matter how well he played with KC (or with Yes, Chris Squire and whoever else), on his solo albums and with Earthworks he's the main COMPOSER as well. He could do just what he wanted. So these works show much more of his "ability"! |

Just adding another agreement with this statement. In fact, it is so much my favorite performance of Bruford's I'm gonna have to go and vote "other". While his playing has been more technical and/or bombastic with KC, and his compositional ability more on display with his solo works, this performance with Collins is so smooth and effortless, I think it really showcases his ability to fit complex lines into music in a natural and unassuming way.
