Maani,
I know this is pushing it ... but I for one, am really quite cheesed off at Forum users employing multiple identities to make fools of the rest of us. I swear I recently caught myself wondering if DB, wallace and K9 were the same person ... I don't mean to disrespect anyone, it's just that this habit has got me a little paranoid ... and I'm sick of it.
Also is it ethical for you to publish the identities of the various offenders? That will expose these frauds for who they are (or have been?) ... I admit I'm also curious and it would clear up some mysteries for me ...
Again sorry for the inconvenience and extra work my post is implying.
Cheers!

A way to detect this is to check the IP they are using to POST in the top of a POST.
About this : Also is it ethical for you to publish the identities of the various offenders?
Sorry but I don't want to do this

Errr, I know that you as an administrator and sure Maani as a moderator can see the IPs of the posts but who else can? Can collaborators do that?

I can't get too excited about multiple personalities. As long as they're all civil and respect the site rules, who cares?

Sure thing Easy Dog!
But perhaps Belva's latest antics done under a number of aliases ...is it just one or could it more than that ... may drive home the point I was trying to make ...
but then again I don't fully understand the whole revolving IP number thing (let's be honest I don't understand a thing about IP numbers)
I'd just like some system in place to ensure that the valuable members of this forum (of which there are many) are not driven away by the few troublemakers ... some of whom are downright despicable ... and right now I think multiple identities is one of their weapons ... anyway I'm sure our beleaguered admin team is looking into it

The same IP for two user names won't necessarily relate to multiple identities. Two members of this site use the same computer - mine! We have different e-mails and are members of the same family, but not the same person!

This has set me thinking, Emerson vs Wakeman who would win? (In a fight, not for keyboard wizardry).
My guess is Emo as he used knives while Wakeman had a paint roller. Wakeman's only chance would have been to use his cape like a bullfighter and hope that Emerson's deadly weapon became embedded in one of the Leslie speaker cabinets - then he could have applied a swift coat of gloss with the roller to 'finish' him off.
Anyway, it's a thought (not much of one I'll grant you).

We are just so sorry there are so few women enjoying this type of music!
So we are peeved when some "stupid" sport jock takes the few woman away from us!!! Let alone when other woman such as your sister is womanly inclined also!
I would not know if decathletes are stupid but we are jealous anyway!
Tony ,
you need to:
a) change spectacles
b) stop looking at top fashion models in mags or actresses in Holywood movies: they are not for real , spend four hours in the bathroom when getting out of bed.
c) get together with Gdub
d) try to see if you can fit that second foot in your mouth

Check out the other complaint thread , quite a laugh, too!
Snowie is being a bit of a sour puss, though on that one!
Things have been so fine lately that there hasn't been complaints to file lately (except for my sexual harassment ....... simply , I don't get enough of it!), so we are keeping the section open (just in case Karney comes back) by posting away rubbish (well Bea is certainly no rubbish to us all except you maybe)

I think you should be grateful to the Great Agatha Christie for creating the only famous Belgian!
Who is this Sellers character? Clouseau? Hes supposed to be French!

Yeah! I got my train station mystery novels detective mixed up , sorry!
But Poirot was equally portrayed as ridiculous as Clouseau. Seems to be a constant thing about English to consider continentals as inferior and subject to ridicule. Sherlock (gee I wonder what nationality he was , Potuguese maybe? ) was by no means ridiculous.
Even his side kick was probably not Welsh!
As for famous Belgian, should I start at Rubens & Breughel , or shall I jump straight to Magritte & Delvaux...... As if we had to wait for good ol'Agatha!!!! We had Simenon and his Maigret characters: those were plausible stories....
Or maybe Merckx & Henin-Hardenne or Jacques Brel & Johnny Halliday (Philippe Smet) or Roger Trigaux (Present) & Daniel Denis (Univers Zero)......
Even if the Welsh traditionally give a hard time to the Red Devils on the football field , talent usually prevails......
Let's end it here, I propose!

Typically British view on continentals! Agatha Christie (obsolete old bag writing train station mystery novels) was never too concerned about being realistical. The Sellers character was depicting French accent, too!
But I suppose I had it coming after the sour puss thing!
|
|

Poirot is a brilliant detective based on a Belgian that Christie knew, so whers the problem......BRILLIANT Detective.....
Sherlock Holmes was a serious drug taker, hardly admirable!
And the other matter, you prove my point. I haven't heard of any of the Belgs you mentioned!
Oh and Clouseau is funny, thats the point. We British takrethe piss out of ourselves as well, don't you know! We not overly concerned about the nationality as you are it seems.

However brilliant , he is always represented as physically ridiculous, precious and overly concerned with his moustache - sleeps with i moustache net! not as a brilliant tall, charming Holmes.

You need to read the newspapers (even the sports page would do, for Merckx and Henin), go to a few arts museum (Magritte's surrealism), listen to the radio( Brel is world reknowned that even Bowie did a song of his: Port of Amsterdam and Jimmy page recorded for Johnny), and open your progressive ears Present and Univers Zero are prime representants of RIO/ Avant-prog.
Get out of your arid hills. The Welsh group Man once yelled at the first Canterbury Fayre in 2000, that England did not even know that they had a third world country next door! I thought they were exagerating a lot , that is until I speak with you! Or you are pulkling my leg , and I'm not even noticing it!

I believe Sellers makes the Brits laugh (not only the Brits ) not the character in itself which is hardly a playboy!

I'll stick with Delvaux. He had the most nude women in his pictures,
which is fine with me (although they always seem a little anaemic).

Aw man I love Poirot, but nowhere is it suggested that he is typical of all Belgians!!!! No one would believe it. He is who he is despite his nationality. Hes a bit of a tresure really!
I was exagerating BTW, Of course I've heard of Magritte!!! I love his work, one of my favourites ( he has some work in our Museum)

My brother (Peter Townsend) used to post on here, but he rarely does anymore. We use the same computer, so please don't think that I'm running two identities! Thanks.
