I, for one, hope to get so go to more wonderful concerts during my stay in France. On a related note, I definitely hope Univers Zero manages to release that DVD from the concert I attended this year.

Maybe that once promised KC album will be done? Also, more KC 5.1 remasters by Steven Wilson?

A Led Zeppelin tour? I'd kill for that.

Both Magic Pie and A.C.T were supposed to release albums in 2009, but nothing came out 'til now. I think we can expect their albums for early 2010.
Spock's Beard is also going to release their SBX album in 2010.

By now, I'm looking for these albums to be released.

Mikael Akerfeldt said he was going to work on a solo album. No complicated music like Opeth, but more a singer/songwriter effort with just him and an acoustic guitar. Not sure if it's going to be 2010 though, but I hope so. Very interested to see what it will be like.

Also, it's been a while since Tool has released 10,000 Days, so I hope they are going to get into the studio again.

I also wondered about The Flower Kings. Their last one is from 2007 I suppose. I know, members were very busy with various groups and projects, but good, old TFK can come out. I'll be glad.

Thanks guys, from these, I like mostly: Magic Pie and King Crimson.

Of course, I have soft spot for any members music, including Robert's

Because it's fun :D

I saw Moon Safari say that their next album should be out late this year, or if not, sometime next year, on their facebook page. If that's accurate, we should have some new Moon Safari music soon :D

I recently read an interview with Chris Squire where he spoke of a collaboration with Steve Hackett that was to be released in 2010 under the name "Squakett".
There are so many ways this can play out, but I for one am wetting my trousers for this!
Phideaux said he would be doing 2 albums for 09, but maybe we´ll have to wait for next year, before we are handed an ending to the doomsday-trilogy,- or maybe he got enthralled in some other obscure ideas that it will be postboned too......?
This is my first post btw, but I´ve been sneakpeekin´ for quite some time, and this has got to be one of my greatest discoveries on the net.Clap

I'm expecting it to be the best year of music of all time, or at least f**kING AMAZING. If it'll out-do '07 then I will be utterly flabbergasted...

Confirmed:
NE OBLIVISCARIS, Sigur Ros, Agalloch, Alcest, Esoteric (they've started writing, at least...), Kayo Dot (Coyote!), Woven Hand, Burzum, Radiohead, Eluvium, Devin Townsend (maybe more than one), Massive Attack, sleepmakeswaves, Akercocke, Anathema, Ihsahn, Blut Aus Nord (this actually may be very late '09, and I don't mean MV II), Iron & Wine, Mothlite, etc, etc...

Possibly:
I also read ELP was preparing a new album, too.
Their home page says they're going to headline the High Voltage Festival next year. Me thinks it's time to pay some bills (hmmm). It also make me wonder if Greggy is jumping on the Emerson wagon after the release of the Keith Emerson Band album. Last statements we heard about ELP recording (a ways back) was that Greggy didn't bring any new material to the table. He has also been working on his third solo album for what, a couple of decades or more? His credibility with me is pretty low these days. My love/hate relationship with these guys extends to the fact that they are all very talented but only Emerson has given any real input to music since they disbanded. I had really expected more from Palmer to honest He showed promise on his contributions to the Works albums but it seem to end there. I'm not holding my breath anymore when it comes to new material.
Time...please prove me wrong!

We lied!  Actually, we hoped to have it finished, but had a situation with a recording session when our drummer's father passed away and all recording was aborted for 6 weeks.  So, now we are hopeful for February.  These holidays put a crimp in people's schedules for music making!

We just finished the basic tracks, however, and I'm very excited by it.  Definitely my favourite so far.  Probably continuing in the direction of our track "Love Theme From Number Seven"

Take your time, boys, unlike Porcupine Tree...), Akerfeldt Solo Album (there have been several discussions about this), Bon Iver, Coldworld, Bohren & Der Club of Gore, Earthless, Fleet Foxes, Nachtmystium, Forest of Stars, Darkspace, Anglagard (they're talking about writing!), Enslaved, Il Bacio Della Medusa, Yes, Tool, etc, etc...

God... it will be AMAZING!!!

You can add Negura Bunget, I know you're a fan.

I WAS a fan... This new Negru project doesn't count. That said I am very much looking forward to the new project from Huppogramos which I am quite sure will smash whatever Negru comes up with in NB.

I've also heard that the bassist and the guitarist were the creative driving force of Negura Bunget (and the sample song from their new project is indeed excellent). But I'm sure the new Negura Bunget won't be bad... Maybe, I don't know. I still have some expectations.

It would be really great if the thread starter edited his first post and posted all the mentioned releases in an alphabetical order. That's a kind request, if it's possible Smile Maybe sorted by 'confirmed' and 'speculations'?

Mariusz Duda said in an interview that before a new Riverside's album he's going to work on a second release from Lunatic Soul. I think there is a chance we'll get it on 2010.

Yes, yes, YES! Cynic!!! The problem is, however, that those guys take so forever long in making a record, I have no idea how soon the next album will be. But I'm with you; a new release already would be nice.

I'm puzzled too. With working titles as "The Cardinal And I" and "Moments Without Sounds", it ought to be a GREAT release.

But I'm sure the band didn't disband. I mean, I guess we would have been told so if it was the case. I must admit I was not really glad about the New Progressives though, because I thought it would slow the process of recording the new album.

Ah ... for some reason I thought that the new tangent one that just came out was a live album and the studio one was still in the works, I see now that I am mistaken about that one.  Will have to purchase that ASAP :D

Was actually asking about the two bands seperately (although the knowledge that they had talked about working together was what brought them both together in my mind at the same time). Beardfish has been pretty consistent lately though with their release schedule, I hope we can expect some new stuff from them.

Anathema and Orphaned Land, which have already been mentioned.

Tesseract and Periphery will release their debut albums as well (I presume). From what I've heard so far Tesseract's release may very well be the most awesome album I've ever heard. Fans of Mushuggah, Textures, and the like must check them out. Imagine the groove of Meshuggah mixed with the atmosphere of Isis, and you've got something akin to Tesseract.

Bulb has posted heaps of video and audio clips of Periphery stuff all over sevenstring.org and occasionally ultimatemetal.com (I frequent those sites a lot of more than PA now) and everything I've seen/heard has pretty much blown me away.
Tesseract is another great djenty/groove metal band for sure, love what I've heard from those guys.

Hello guys.

there are a lot of topics that i'd like to discuss about.

I 'd like to introduce you to a new prog-supergroup.

THE SHADOW THEORY.

Lineup :

Devon Graves: Vocals, Guitars, Flute (ex-Psychotic Waltz, Deadsoul Tribe)
Demi Scott: Keyboards
Arne Schuppner: Guitars
Kristoffer Gildenlöw: El. Bass (ex-Pain Of Salvation)
Mike Terrana: Drums

The coming album is gonna be VERY progressive.

Here's the first interview that two members of the band gave for The Shadow Theory to the greek site www.rocking.gr

translated on the band's official page :

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/topic.php?uid=105047385990&topic=12508

1)suggest some changing (I.E. - from rumours to confirmed and otherwise),

also

2)Please keep new names flowing

and

3)Old ones talked about

and I

4)Will bold those that will be released. Just stick with this thread.

Negura Bunget isn't rumoured, but was announced officially by the band (no release date though).

The King Crimson new album was talked about more than two years ago and the plan seems to have been dropped. It should be moved to a "1% chance" category.

Maybe a sub-genre separation would be useful?

Thanks Marty, great job!

But keep posting, it'll be nice to just check off them, as 2010 will go bye.
