New way how to sort your reviews, sort them by year.

Simple picture shows my idea.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

That would be a very good improvement.

Yeah, I've already saw a lot in my short history here on PA. Sometimes it seems that things are slow, only too see new changes introduced right next day. For example "Top 25" list.

This would be really great. Thanks for replying Mr. Greg from Canada.

I've suggested that a little while back http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=60904 - here . I also think sorting the reviews by year would be a great idea.Smile

Yep Jeff man, I realize that I suggested it amongst many other ideas few days later, not knowing about your. I was thinking about it for some time, as you probably were too.

Anyway, your discussion somehow turned into half a star rating theme and mine became confusing for everyone including me.

Here we can with some luck accomplish it.

Hi Marty,

Who's the "Please respond guys" directed at? Is it looking for other members' reactions to your suggestion or for mailto:M@x - M@x (the webmeister) to comment? (or both).

Cheers

Hi Robert,

just looking for other wanderers who roams through this deserted section. You know that for example "Just for fun" is much more visited than this one, so I've tried to get some attention to (what I and fortunately also others) consider as useful and important feature, which is also easy to do (if you can use same pattern that is used for other sortings, I.E: switch number of stars for release date).

And what about your opinion, is it good idea and would it be easy to implement ?

Of course, I'll adjust thread title, but maybe these people wouldn't go there without it. Nah, just kidding, editing it right now ;-)

Cheers Marty,

If enough folks think it would be useful, then I suspect it would not be too dififcult for mailto:M@x - M@x to implement. I don't think I'd find much use for it myself. I tend to only be looking at my own listings if I want to see what I said about an album or to update an old review. The exisitng sorts are fine for that.

Also, since it is only the year of release (not the actual date) we record, those with a sizeable list of reviews would find the listing within years rather haphazard.

Well, with all due respect Bob, I think this is again going to fail, because almost nobody visits this thread. I could put it in prog music lounge and people would have it before their eyes. I think that in this case, voices would be heard much more.

This is deserted section and we all know it.
