hey I thought of those earlier too - admittedly good music but detestable covers. I cant stand it when bands do this. They place a logo and then settle for these without imagination.
A lot of KCs albums do this look at Beat and Three of a PP - bad bad bad -------------

Actually The White Album for all its simplicity is very iconic - you can never forget it. And its very easy to make a bootleg copy with a white piece of paper....

I agree that ELP is simply a disaster, but I stay with
 Invitation to Rachel's Birthday is a very good album, but the cover is the worst thing I ever seen in a Prog band.

this is what I found out -----------------to quote Wikipedia
"'The computer-generated cover art for the album was provided by David Patchett, but he asked to be removed from the credits because he was not satisfied with the result. The version used was actually a prototype provided by Patchett, but the band decided to use it in its incomplete form. While trying to keep things on a prog level I do have to say that the Residents cover is much better than the majority of crappy artwork hitting store shelves these days. Hell, the Love Beach cover is way cooler than anything by the Jonas Brothers. Now who wants to argue with me on that?

I have that album - Atomic Rooster's Nice n Greasy
That is rather offensive. I think that was the US version but the UK version was more tasteful. Yet I will post that version because it is still pretty awful
 This is the version I changed the cover to using the images in the booklet - Its a real improvement too
 I like that cover. Theres a lot worse. -------------

Stongly dis-a-gree with you on this one. I love this cover. Tull have often used dramatic artistic impressions of Ian anderson on their covers (Aqualung for instance). The 'Stormwatch' cover painting by David Jackson is beautifully realised and fits the music on the album very well.
There are far worse Tull covers than this.

 these aren't as bad but qualify:
 frankly, any band that decides to put themselves on the cover in some silly pose. if you want your album to look dated in only a few short years this is the way to go.

 Bad album cover, but not for the reason I bet you're first thinking. I'm gay so the guy's bare ass does not bother me (although I think Rush did it better with Hemispheres). What really bugs me about this cover is the hideous red, yellow, and white lines that run across the gatefold, they're too bold and so un-fabulous. Another thing is the skyscrapers. While I bet it looked alright on the LP format, the condensed CD version dimensions makes the concrete rows and windows too busy like a abstract pattern. Tormato was a much superior album cover IMHO (although musically it was a weaker than this one). |

Going for the one is quite good (the naked guy is symbolic of exposed, modern coldness, as is the cover), great. Meddle and Division Bell have great album covers. Love Beach is inoffensive but very cheesy and dull. bad covers, methinks:     a lot of neo prog stuff just sux |
