Someone has started a project of making a kind of encyclopedia of progressive rock - freely downloadable. Not finished yet but some parts are ready to be downloaded and enjoyed, and it seems like the author would like people to see and comment.

Good lord...you could be referencing bands that use brief classical quotes...like Spinal Tap for example.

I'm blanking on it myself right now to be honest. I know it was on the Great Deceiver box set. The whole thing he does there is great. I think, to paraphrase what he says, it was something like "Good evening hippies...this is the part of the show where the band comes out and says a little bit to the audience to bring us closer together and to help us reach a mutual understanding...well...now that we've got THAT bit out of the way, let's move on to the next piece."
