Ten exceptionally heavy Death, Grind and Deathgrind albums that I've grown quite fond of over the years. Some are quite well known on the scene (like Human and Annihilation Of The Wicked) and some not so well known (Anaclasis and Noncumbulant are my pick of obscurity). But that's good, because it means if you haven't heard an album here you can take my word for it that you will not be disappointed. That is if you like extreme metal

Basically, this is more than just a poll. These are my favourite heavy albums and a chance to discover new bands. So those of you that know, take your pick. Those of you that don't know half of them, take something away from this poll!

Vote away.

I went for Lucid Interval, although it was a very tough choice. Human almost took it.

I concur.

The only one I've listened to is Annihilation by Nile, though that's a hell of an album

Yeah man, it's incredible. I think the closest thing to it on my list is Noncumbulant. It's basically a cross between Nile and Necrophagist for me...

Pig Destroyer for me.I'm a big fan of grindcore not so much death metal for some reason.I love Napalm but I still haven't managed to hear The code is red. After Pig Destroyer and Napalm,I would of voted Nasum.

Pig destroyer for me as well. I am currently listening to the Nile album, and find it a bit soporific.
Other brutal metal that could be choices in this poll :
- Behemoth - 'demi-god'
- Vesania - 'god the lux'
- benighed - 'icon'

I don't know if the decapitated album has Vitek on drums (RIP), but 'winds of creation' sounds much more brutal and more entertaining.
Another album that is worth mentioning, all the more so it was released this year, is Suffocation's 'blood oath' with the fantastic Mike Smith on drums, the master of blast beats.

I think In Their Darkened Shrines is the best Nile album, but Annihilation is solid.

I went with Pig Destroyer.
