Alreet!  My name's Ollie but that username was taken sooo yeah.  I needed somewhere to talk prog and nothin' but prog.  Bands I like incude Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Sikth, Tesseract, Planet X, Between the buried and me to name a few in the proggy region.  I wanted to talk to people who understand the music a bit more than regular listeners i.e  time signatures etc.  Am I in the right place then?=p

Nice to have you...

...but watch the Slimer colored font.

Some of the old geezers won't be able to read it, and those of us who still have our youth want to retain our eyesight.  Wink

Here is a link to a page with some of my stuff:

Unlike The Epignosis Guy, my stuff sucks. I'm only a drummer. Tongue

That's it just finished.  You're right that it's not exactly my thing but I enjoyed alot of it.  I can certainly see the effort that's gone into it.  Well done!  Normally a 20 minuite song takes severeal listens so I'll revisit it next time I'm getting a smoke.  I appreciate music more when I get stoned=p  It would be great to hear this song professionally produced or live.  Also regarding the bands I mentioned, these are just my favorites at the moment.  I think Gentle Giant are probably the best band ever but I forgot to mention them.

Was this just you or were there other musicians?

It was me and Gentle Giant.  EmbarrassedWink

No...that was all me.  We found out early on (like in 1st grade) that I don't work well with groups.  Embarrassed

Thanks for listening buddy.

I was the same.  I've been in countless bands that failed.  I never really worked that well in a group untill I met the members of my current band.  They are all so like minded.  You should keep on looking dude=p  Incase you're wondering I don't have any recordings...yet.  On another note the forum clock seems to be about 6hours behind the time here.  Need to fix that won't I?

Welcome aboard.

And yeah, I do play an instrument. I'm a trainee concert pianist

I do write my own stuff, mostly metal, but I never have the time nor patience to get it down to an mp3 which is a shame.

As for the bands you like, I like... 30% of them Sikth and BTBAM are awesome.

Awesome!  I'd love to hear something someday.  Yeah how good 'were' Sikth?  By the time I got into them they had split up=[
