I didn't include all 48 of the albums on my current "to review" list, but I was looking for input of this very special occasion.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

I think just about all of those would be worthy of the honour of being number 100.
For me personally "In Absentia" or "Birds Of Fire" just ahead of "Depois De Fim" and "LODDOD".

I'm completing my Peter Gabriel series with So today, which will be 99.

All of the albums in the list would get a 4 or 5 star review from me, I think. (Sometimes things change when you put it on repeat a few times with a more critical ear.)

Birds of Fire would be a good choice but Discipline is very underappreciated and would probably feel good that you picked them to do your 100th review. Wink

I'll go for one I haven't got, so I can get an opinion on its worthiness from a learned friend - so Pentangle's Debut for me.

Brand X will be in my next 10 regardless of whether it gets the honored spot.

Listening to Discipline right now...it's hard to concentrate on the rest of the album after the sheer perfection of Canto IV / Limbo.

If you've listened to Still Life and haven't reviewed it yet, then you probably should.

Harmonium´s second album is such a beauty. That one gets my vote.

Same here. Make an interesting review of one of the most interesting albums ever made.

I voted Harmonium but I think it's a really good idea to review a more obscure album that you enjoyed and would like to draw attention to.  I have noticed that there are quite a few hidden gems around that have very few reviews (or none at all), and often when I'm looking for info on an album I like to read other people's opinions, but am often frustrated by the lack of reviews or info.  I would like to be able to write reviews myself but am rather lacking in confidence.

Harmonium in the lead, which interestingly is an album I got the hard way, through an import distributor. It's an excellent album which I love. Not my absolute favorite on the list, but a certainly deserving choice. We'll see how thing end up....

I suggest Pat Metheny's The Way Up.  It seems an appropriately symbolic title as your numbers grow.

I'll give it to Mahavishnu, it'll be between that and Harmonium.

Well my current favorite discovery, Bacamarte, is bringing up the rear. I can recommend highly every single album on the list with the possible exception of Rajaz.

That album is one of the most beautiful demonstrations of expressive electric guitar I've ever heard, but the rest of the music is simply OK in my opinion. While I think it belongs in every guitar player's library, not every prog fan is going to get as much out of it as I do.

Starting my critical spins of Harmonium this afternoon. Barring a surprise run, it looks like it will be the one.

Still Life is a great album, but hopefully every Opeth fan already has it. I don't know that my review will sway anyone one way or another. I'll definitely get to it, but I like doing a little bit more obscure ones in general. One day I'll just get in the mood and do it. Pretty much same story with Blackwater Park, except I like Still Life a little better.

^ Yeah I agree. It's never as much fun reviewing Close to the Edge or Selling England. However, I am writing a review for Fragile right now only because I'm giving it 3 stars (sorry Fragile fans).

Review done, will post shortly.

I'm fairly certain Still Life would get 5 stars. Those critical 4-5 listens to an album sometimes change things though. The only one I'm sure would get 5 stars is Birds of Fire, just because I've listened to it so many times over several years. Bacamarte is new to me (4-5 total listens) but feels like a 5 star. Several have masterpiece songs but I'm not sure the whole album rates masterpiece. And some are just hard work to digest. The Pat Matheny album most of all. I've been wanting to review that for awhile now, but it's alot of music to digest.

I loved Bacamarte's when I was quite new to it --  I found it so warm and delightful -- but I don't hold it in the same regard as I once did.  Still, it's a very nice album.  I just don't consider it to that great any more.

Well the review is up:

I will eventually review every album on the list, as they are all favorites in one way or another. The Harmonium album was a worthy subject, thanks to everyone who participated in the poll.

I may be back for number 150...
