Hi all,

this is another great new feature for the site, as selected carefully by the sub-genre experts of each team.

It'scalled overlooked and obscure gems albums and you can find the list in each sub-genre pages
below the TOP ALBUMS LIST.

Please share your thoughts and comments.

I'd like to thank all the team about this, really really great work !!!

Max

Well I'd certainly love to receive any suggestions for overlooked RIO, Avant-Prog or Zeuhl albums which I could pass on to the relevant authorities.

I'm sure if you approach any member of the appropriate sub-genre team they'd be more than happy to take your suggestions on board.

I have looked around the site and the various forums and topics. There        is nnothing called "sub genre"

It would be straight forward if a hot linhk to one could be forthcoming... or just the name of the forum page or topic could be given rather than the generic ref sub genre

Lets see ...?

Right underneath the PA banner at the top of the page it says: Prog Sub-Genres in white letters and lists them all with a hyperlink to all of them.

Maybe, instead of members proposing additions, there should be some kind of algorithm that selects these?

For example, if an album only has one rating, and it's 5 stars, for example, then it could be made available for random selection to provide a list of, say, 20 obscure gems every week.

This could be weighted to select the most recent reviews/ratings, and maybe trawl for some real lost ones - e.g. 15 could be selected from recent ratings, and the other 5 could be dug out from the mists of time.

With this system, if anyone wants a particular album selected, and thinks it's a real gem, then all they would have to do is rate it, and it would appear on the list eventually.

Obviously, there could also be a complete page, featuring every album with just a handful of high ratings.

Just a few ideas off the top of my head, and not very organised...

There is a shortcut on the TOP PROG ALBUM that tweaks the variables to generate that kind of list
http://www.progarchives.com/top-prog-albums.asp?ssubgenres=&salbumtypes=1&syears=&scountries=&sminratings=3&smaxratings=20&sminavgratings=4&smaxresults=100&x=93&y=9#list - http://www.progarchives.com/top-prog-albums.asp?ssubgenres=&salbumtypes=1&syears=&scountries=&sminratings=3&smaxratings=20&sminavgratings=4&smaxresults=100&x=93&y=9#list

You can then play with the filters....

Maybe CERT, you should apply for a place in the PROG METAL team ?! Seriously...
