I live in south bay, but that was a joke... I don't really know any prog hangouts. I don't even know any prog fans here except myself and King Of Siam My friends aren't very prog oriented unfortunately.

I don't live in L.A. having been removed from California for the last 30 years of my life., but my immediate family all lives in So. cal. and when on occasion I visit that part of the world I am just floored by the amount of live music that is available....Music of all sorts and in all types of venues. there are not too much bands playing prog in LA [ styxs is playing in January in HoB and chick corea in UCLA as far as know ] .if you want to buy some prog albums you should check it out rockaway records and amoeba ,both have great selection in prog ------------- Nothing can last there are no second chances. Look and ye shall find. Although, this Winter may be hard to do that. Generally, though plenty of bands come to LA, you just got to check the bands' websites for dates. Tangerine Dream played in UCLA's Royce hall, last month, just to give you an example.Also check the Last.fm events page. I think Zappa Plays Zappa might do something either in late December or January. Okay, back to studying for finals!  |
