I was really surprised to see that this band wasn't on the site. They are from Australia, and I just heard a song by them on Pandora. They are awesome, and I will definitely by buying on of their two CDs.

You can hear that they deserve a place in archives just from their Amazon samples:

Yeah I picked up the album for a woman I know, has it's moments but it certainly leans toward the power side of things...

I'm always on the prowl for new bands and stumbled across Serenity.  I really wanted to like them... a bit heavy for my tastes, but I kept an open mind nonetheless.

Unfortunately I heard the song "From Where the Dark is Born".  Things were moving along fine and when the vocals came in...  I got this mental picture of "Weird Al" that I have been unable to shake.  In fact, I did a double take, thinking perhaps it was a cruel trick someone had played.  Sadly, no, it was in earnest.  There are some good things happening in the Serenity material that I've heard, but IMHO they appear to catering to a younger crowd, one without my ancient reference points.  *sigh*

Just for the record: Serenity hail from Austria, not Australia.

No more and no less than roughly 10.000 kilometers between these two ;)
