Hey, I recomend Ne Obliviscaris and Be'lakor for Tech/Extreme Prog metal. Both are from Australia. Ne Obliviscaris is a bit more progressive than Be'lakor. Both are great bands but Ne Obliviscaris is really just amazing.

You guys should really add Ne Obliviscaris into the archives. They're amazingly original, progressive, and talented. I don't want to see them neglected.

Ne Obliviscaris are one of the dwindling number of metal bands I like these days.

Not from Australia but what about Nachtmystium? They're sort of a black metal version of Pink Floyd, lots of spacey stuff. Get the album Assassins: Black Meddle Pt. 1 . Their old stuff is NOT progressive.

This song's FANTASTIC. The whole album's good actually. Too bad their earlier stuff is sort of sh*tty though.

Well, I think that BM PF is a bit too far but they're obviously influenced by PF.

As for genre they could go under either Post-Metal or Tech/Extreme Metal. That's not even the best song on the album. The three Seasick songs are the highlights imo.

Can you also continue the discussion for Deathspell Omega? http://progfreak.com/Deathspell-Omega,_dbe,artists,_auto_6901063.xhtml?path=overview - http://progfreak.com/Deathspell-Omega,_dbe,artists,_auto_6901063.xhtml?path=overview I can't think of anything better to call them than Progressive Black Metal. They aren't progressive in the sense of how Dream Theater
or Ihsahn is progressive. They don't use keyboards or anything like
that. But yet they are VERY progressive. Their lyrics especially. Their
lyrical content deals primarily with Satanism on a metaphysical level,
and other various theological topics. Their music itself is also very
complex. They use many dissonant chords to create complex textures and
harmonies much like Wolves in the Throne Room. They are, at a minimum, avant-garde.

Deathspell Omega would fit nicely into the tech/ extreme prog metal genre. Not because they are technical but they are certainly extreme and avant garde influenced.

IMO Fas – Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum is better and more progressive than Kénôse. Both are great though.

Were still working on them. Ne Obliviscaris is the only one that's been approved so far. Do you wanna try and do the bio for us? I'd give you credit for It and it would get them here faster. If not then I'll add them when I can.

You would have to ask for permissions. We can't just take a bio just cause we want to. There are copyrights laws you know. Besides it isn't that hard to write your own bio just gather some of them read them and then write them in your own words of course.

Bio: Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2003, Ne Obliviscaris (Pronounced: Nay Ob-li-vis-kar-is) are a metal band consisting of 2 guitars, bass, drums, 2 vocalists and a
violin. Their music flows through a variety of different musical "flavors" including black and other "extreme" metal genres, and even western
art music. Their music progresses through different extremes at times brutal and technical and at other times melodic and subtle. Ne Obliviscaris is often compared to bands such as Opeth but truly they sound nothing like them, they create an
extremely original brand of metal which defies any genre of music currently in existence. They have a vocalist who specializes in the art of brutal shrieks named Xenoyr. They also utilize melodic vocals that are sung by their violinist, Tim Charles. Among them is the flowing rhythm of drummer Daniel ' Mortuary' Presland (who was crowned as the Fastest Feet in Australia in 2006) and bassist Brendan 'Cygnus' Brown. Originally Matt Klavins was their "rhythm" guitarist and Corey King (as heard on The Aurora Veil) had lead guitar duties. In 2007, the original lead guitarist, Corey King left the band. After a worldwide search lasting over 9 months that saw guitarists audition from across Australia, the USA and Europe, they announced the arrival of Benjamin Baret, from Bordeaux, France as Ne Obliviscaris' new lead guitarist. Currently they only have one self recorded demo titled The Aurora Veil but they are writing new material for their full length album planned to be released in 2008 or 2009.

Wait a sec. Just wondering...could you make the bio a bit more neutral? since this bands write their bios praising themselves and I read the one from their site and it's not to different(just don't wanna get into trouble for plagiarism) but its just the beginning of the bio everything else is fine. This ain't to hard by the way. Just write what you see...but in your own words. Thanks,
