I know i suck at reviewing. I might write a longer one later.
Opeth yesterday was awesome! They didn't play a full set, though. It lasted around 75 or so minutes.
It was kinda hard to see, because there were many people in front of me. But i did see the whole band playing Big%20smile
The setlist was something like this:
  1. ???
  2. The Baying of the Hounds
  3. Masters Apprentices
  4. To Rid the Disease
  5. ???
  6. Wreath
  7. The Drapery Falls
Might have missed a song somewhere. I recognized parts of the first song, though.
The 5th one was some song from "Watershed".

I found a video from the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYbqFp0_3Fk - The Drapery Falls

And Martin Axenrot, their new drummer is fantastic! Clap
Their new guitarrist was nothing special, though. Ermm

Fredrick (new guitarist) Is great, he used to be in Arch Enemy..pretty difficult guitar parts.

I'm betting one of the mystery songs was Heir Apperent.

Also, are you familiar with My Arms, Your Hearse? Because if you're not I'm betting they opened with Demon of the Fall.

Might be so, since they played mainly "hits", as Mikael said.
Might be something from Still Life, too. Since i havn't heard that one eiter.

EDIT: No, it wasn't Heir Apparent. Before the mystery song was played, someone in the audience shouted LOUDLY: "HEEEIR APPAAREEENT!!!".
Mikael Answered: "Vi kan nog inte riktigt den" (I don't think we really know that one).

No Ghost of Perdition? I hope they haven't retired that one already. Disapprove

They may've played it, i don't really remember.
But it wasn't a full set, since they played on a festival where they had to play within a certain time span.
So i guess they havn't.

I bet they won't play it this tour..it sounds like they'll be playing Baying of the Hounds as far as Ghost Reveries goes for most of the Watershed tour.

They played it at pretty much all the festivals and all ProgNation dates.

Maybe they'll change it up for the upcoming NA run. Hopefully, I don't want to hear exactly what I heard at ProgNation, I want longer.

^That's kinda lame. Baying of the Hounds is cool and all ("PASS ME TACOS OF THE EARTH!"), but Ghost of Perdition has sort of become their Roundabout, it's overplayed but it would feel wrong to not hear it.

I'm hoping more for a Godhead's Lament, but they probably won't be playing that one either.Cry

I'll be seeing the last show of the North American tour, so they might play something special (or they might be tired as hell and play a twenty minute set). Regardless, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Seeing Opeth on 9/18 here in the states. I'd love to see something off of Ghost Reveries other then Baying of the Hounds. Ghost of Perdition, perhaps overplayed but still I love it. We'll find out I suppose.

I think "The Drapery Falls" is their "Roundabout".

"Ghost of Perdition" has only been around a few years now, so maybe it will become some sort of a "Roundabout" in the coming years, it deffinitley has the potential too.

Certainly it does. The quick, heavey start draws in listeners and encourages them to listen further. Sure its death metal but cant it be catchy? xD

I like Baying of the Hounds better IMO. It's been more or less stuck in my head for days now!
