Hello my friends here Alberto, i stop to see in the tag on the main page that says "Our Collaborators", and i see some thing that i think if we agreed with the PA Policy of naming prog reviewers those persons can´t be prog reviewers, but actually they are!Confused

So i would give no names, actually is in the site but earlier i ask Easy Livin' how do i get the prog reviewer tag and he answer me this:

"Prog reviewers" are people who have been identified by the site’s owners as regularly contributing high quality reviews of a diverse range of bands and albums".

"NOTE: It's important to bear in mind that the following criteria are solely for general guidance, and do not constitute any sort of prerequisites or guarantee of acceptance. Also, that although applications can be submitted at any time, the processing of applications will be done only a few times each year, so please do not be impatient.
  • Submit at least 30 well composed reviews, which talk in some detail about each album. Ideally, the albums covered will be spread across a range of bands and sub-genres, and will not simply focus on those in the top 100. If possible, try to do a sequence of at least 5 albums by one of these "lesser-known" bands.
  • Contribute one or more band biographies for bands on the site who do not presently have biographic details. (With a little time and research, these can be prepared quite easily, even if you are not too familiar with the band. Do not however simply copy the words from other people’s work. Collate the facts, then present them in your own words.)
  • Participate constructively in the forum, offering intelligent contributions and avoiding becoming embroiled in personal battles with other members. (When applying, make sure to mention both your reviewer name AND forum ID).
  • If you can obtain the agreement of a current Prog Reviewer or Special Collaborator to support your request, that will also help."

So, then the rules are written, but i see that some fellows members that have 8 reviews, 305 post and he is  "prog reviewer", another have 23 reviews, 1 post and is "prog reviewer", etc ,etc so my question is, how do they come "prog reviewer"?

Sorry admins and mods but i just curious Wink

The guidelines for becoming a prog reviewer were drawn up after some folks were appointed to that position. Hence the apparent discrepancy.

We do look to our prog reviewers to sustain their input to the site though, and may well at some stage review the status of those who do not submit many reviews.

No, if i want to be a prog reviewer i should try to do more reviews instead Big%20smile. Only that i see in the members tag of the main page that several prog reviewers have less than 30 reviews and they have that tag.

as i said, just curiosity...LOL

Just going off on a tangent a bit I notice "Loserboy" joined and left the same day in 2005 and is one of the highest reviewers ( 845), I hope he is OK!! Guess it must be an admin glitch  re the dates....

I don't think his reviews are all the same date, are they?

^I think the issue is different.

When you review, you have to log in, it has been implemented long ago.
If you log in to review, you automatically visit the forum (or the site). Thus, your last visit becomes that when you logged to review.
Given loserboy's extensive number (and time) of reviews, the "first visit-last visit" issue, being counted on the same day, should be a sort of glitch.

(If I have misunderstood the point, I apologize.)

Besides this, I remember that, in a thread congratulating milestone reviewers, loserboy's absence (and stop of reviews) was questioned: the answer was that loserboy is still reviewing on other (or his own) site, so he simply stopped reviewing over here.

It has already been said: some reviewers received the title before the guidelines were set up. This reviewer posted his first review in November 2004 - in the first year of the sites existence, and the most recent was in March of this year.
