Someone recommended this quite obscure outfit named 'Mörglbl Trio' to me.
They've made three albums, all of which I can highly recommend.
Some great mixture of guitar-heavy jazz-rock/fusion with a healthy dose of metal mixed in, with very intense in-your-face production (for want of a better description). Contains a load of weird, especially their second and third albums, whilst the first is more straight-forward. Some sections had me laugh out loud, not bad for instrumental albums!
Something along the lines of early Al DiMeola on speed Big%20smile . Please have a listen, if you get the chance.
