I mostly listed continents but got more specific with Europe since it has so many different styles and is where the style is mostly prominent. Of couse not every country is listed, sorry but it would be too difficult. If there is another place you have in mind just choose other and list what it is

Wow, i didn't expected that as the first response! Yeah, i think England will probably win. Really it depends on which styles people like best because Krautrock for example is all from Germany.

England produced the greatest, but other countries are outdoing them in todays world. It would take a long time for me to take another country over England for 1960- whenever.

I voted for England...hard to argue with Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Caravan, Soft Machine, Jethro Tull, ELP, Pink Floyd, Van Der Graaf Generator, Henry Cow, Camel, Mike Oldfield and others.

True, although these days i wouldn't say england
personally i would have to go with England myself if i voted but i als love Eloy who come from Germany. Italy also had some good bands such as Goblin

That's exactly why I voted scandinavia, it's the dominating prog region these days and i think they will dominate the prog rock scene for a long time too.

I think multiply votes should be allowed.
Most giants are obviously from England, but other countries have great bands England even can't dream of.

Probably England wins here by far, and is the nation among nations in prog. But England produce in the '70's, 80's high class albums, but where they are in the '90's and today, some here and there a band try to make way to the top. I think today the main front is taken by italian bands, who also have great to stunning bands in 70 and 80. After all each nation has it's peak in prog. England and Italy in same time, it's impossible, then England gets my vote
